Re: Alba 32880hdf Flashing standby
I'll give flashing the NAND a try. The usb_auto_update.txt shows that the NAND is flashed with only 16Mb (mb62_en.bin) where as the NAND is 64Mb correct?
From what I can see the actual FW occupies the first 16Mb and the rest is used for filesystem (I could be wrong). When updating by USB only parts of the NAND is flashed so this to me seems like the issue.
I'm not 100% clear on what all the commands in the usb_auto_update.txt mean, but from looking at them from different FW downloads I can see certain options are enabled/disabled. All the flash addresses are the same.
I'll make a dump of the NAND as-is then program mb62_en.bin directly to it. My best guess at this stage is there is part of the NAND that is corrupt and USB flashing isn't touching the address(es) that need reprogramming.
Once I get round to pulling the NAND I will update on what happens as I go.
Thanks for your input Tom!

Re: Alba 32880hdf Flashing standby
I believe mb62_en.bin is a raw NAND file, so you could try flashing that. usb_auto_update.txt contains info on exactly what addresses writing starts at (included with most firmware dumps)Leave a comment:

Re: Alba 32880hdf Flashing standby
Yes I've already downloaded the firmware for this LCD, Toshiba only provide 2 files in the archive but like you said all the mboot.bin files are generic
(I even opened & compared several using HXD)
This Toshiba will happily install FW all day long but only shows a pixelated screen (see pic). I've tried several FW and I either get:
Long blinking LED - bad FW update
TV powers up but displays black screen (backlight is working)
or
TV powers up but displays pixelated screen
My guess would be there is a specific FW for this board/panel combo?
Board is 17MB62-2.5 (TOSH) from a 32BV702b
All I can think of is the bootloader may be corrupted, but then the TV wouldn't allow USB updates, right?
If the bootloader is ok then it must be down to the FW being corrupt/incorrect.
Tom do you have any SPI & NAND dumps for this model? I have programmers/clipsLeave a comment:

Re: Alba 32880hdf Flashing standby
You can get the mb62_en.bin etc files on the Toshiba website if you have a windows PC, just select the right options and it will copy the files out for you:
mboot.bin is common to all MB62 boards so you can use any make file for that.

Re: Alba 32880hdf Flashing standby
Sorry to dig up an old thread but could someone upload the FW for the Toshiba 32BV702B? If needs be I can program the NAND/SPI externally if someone has the dump from one?Leave a comment:

Re: Alba 32880hdf Flashing standby

last resort plugged in a thumb drive in the usb port switched on the mains and it has kicked them into life for some strange reason

Hi Everyone!
I'm sorry that I write in a foreign subject, this is my first messages to .
I'm looking for theALBA LCD32880HDF file.
Main board 17MB62-1.V1. Paper label - 26752668.
I have enough firmware to 17MB62, but I need the correct file mb62_en.bin.
Or someone tell me the website address support of ALBALeave a comment:

thankfully I only spent £20 on this alba set so £33 all in isn't too badLeave a comment:

PSU will go in a Toshiba 32BV702B which is a rebadge Vestel junker... so that should be good too. Got the inverter and t-con too, but they're not really worth listing, don't got for much.
So yeah, all in all, not bad.Leave a comment:

Re: Alba 32880hdf Flashing standby
I took the boards out before smashing it. It came from the street with that antenna bent slightly. Given some of the brusing on the plastic, I'm figuring it fell off a cabinet, which would explain the bent antenna connector.
Just realised the TV was in fact an Alba 32880HDF so exactly the same model.Leave a comment:

Nice to hear! And I sure did have fun assembling all the plastics with the boards removed and taking to that screen with a sledgehammer. Amazing how much stress that relieves!Leave a comment:

by PNI E.Hi guys, I’m back here my friend give me her tv, that doesn’t turn on and no standby red led. When u plug in the cord the red led of one two second is on, then turn off. If you push the power button or the remote the red led blinks but nothing happen. I give u some photo with voltage, don’t look the fuse….because I blow it for mistake nd I dint have the right replace so I just put it for test the tv. The standby voltage should be 11,88 volt on the diode, but I have 13 volts. I put in the photo the different volts I test and there are someone negative…I don’t know if it s normal. On...

I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.
As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.
There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,... -
by cheeky2I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
