The contol-board has some jumpers on. You cab bridge three and four as I recall, which will give a variety of test-patterns cycling at 10 second intervals....

A pic of the individual boards and the rear complete of the set would be a good start....

there seems to be a crystal on logic board that has a dent in it…in laptops a faulty crystal causes no display..not sure if this the case with PLASMA tv….i read somewhere to check Y OR Z BOARD for no display issues after powerboard has been cleared..powerboard seems to check out…dont know how to go about troubleshooting the rest of the boards..any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the white ceramic fuse to the right of the larger heatsink? If its good than the main IPM circuit under it should still be working. If so move on to the next step.

Check the MOSFETs under the circled heatsinks, you may find than one or more of them has gone bad. You will have to desolder the heatsinks to get to them. They are in parallel so you will have to lift the legs of each one to test if they are shorted.

(Not as common) But there may also be some shorted diodes, you can test them in circuit if they are shorted or not.

Samsung Plasma PN43E450A1F - No Picture / Pop Sound
                  by willis6732
The customer of this TV Heard a pop sound before it went dead.

The VS and VA voltages turn on imediatly and then slowly die off.

I got a replacement Y-Board (Large board on the left) from aliexpress and still no luck

If tested all the IC chipson the board all the way on the left by running meter along the connectors and couldnt find any shorts there...

I think ive checked most the capacitors for shorts as well as most of the diodes and mosfet/transistors on the big boards.

Samsung UN70NU6900F no picture and no sound
                  by jchang
                  Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                  Symptom:
                  No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                  No sound at all.

                  What I tried:
                  1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                  by Ierwin
                  Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
                  by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...
