Hello everyone!
I was scammed on Craigslist. I my greed of a great deal it was too good to be true. So needless to say when I got this 42" amazing deal home and plugged in, vertical lines and no picture....well when I press the menu button or volume button you can see it pops up on the screen, but it just stays in the vertical line view.
So since I feel I can fix most thing I went to take this thing apart, only to come and find it has already been taken apart! It was missing screws for the case and when I got the back off, the T-con board was taped on chase, not a single screw in it. Everything was plugged in and tight. I looked around for bulged or leaking caps and found nothing. I don't know if the previous jerk replaced the T-con board or just opened it and took it out and gave up. Below are links to pics front and back:
http://tinypic.com/m/hx0orc/2 - The yellow part on the screen in when I turn up the volume. This is also with the tv on about 2 min.
http://tinypic.com/m/hx0orb/2 - 30 sec after turning on the set no, buttons pressed.
http://tinypic.com/m/hx0ork/2 - Power board(supply)
http://tinypic.com/m/hx0ord/2 - Main board
http://tinypic.com/m/hx0orl/2 - T-Con Board (are the missing screws a grounding point?)
I've done some reading and watched as many YouTube videos as I have found, but I want to make sure before I start buying things on top of the money I paid for this broken TV already.
Any help is appreciated and I'll answer all questions as fast as I can.
