How do I remove a plastic split washer from a VHS VCR ?

Hi,

I am trying to repair a JVC HR-D530E VHS recorder, the cassette does not eject. I discovered that the rubber belt of the loading motor is slipping, so I'd like to replace it. I think I have to remove the (nylon?) washers at each end of the worm axel, labeled '2' in the photo. I tried using a small screwdriver and a pair of tweezers, but to no avail.

Is there perhaps a special tool or a trick required to remove these ?

Should pop off without much trouble, maybe use a straight tip screwdriver to spread it a little.
