Re: Lg 47LH40-UA
OK, sounds like a defective inverter or bulb-to-frame arcing. Take the back cover of the TV off and get pictures. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Lg 47LH40-UA
Focus on the blue/cyan capacitors near the bottom right corner of this board (near the connectors.)

Do they look burnt to you?Last edited by tom66; 12-15-2013, 11:35 AM.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Quite a common fault. They can be replaced. Can you get a closer picture of the markings on them? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Lg 47LH40-UA
I do not believe you will find them in local store since these are used mainly in high voltage circuit such as the backlights inverter. Mouser and Digikey, or EBAY will be the place to look. I will look at electronics recycle place to see if I can find them on old boards I collect.
So you need the 33 and 54, one each? If I find them this Sat I can mail them to you since they will fit into regular envelope.Never stop learning

Re: Lg 47LH40-UA
wow that would be cool...I'm a bit confused..the guy at Radio Shack told me that the 33 and 54 didn't mean nothing.that it was for the location on the board.but the 6KV meant 6000 volt and now I'm confused.so any one woll work as long as it's 6KV..enlighten me pleaseComment

by tranquilityhello, i am very new to laptop repair and generell electronics
i have a HP Spectre X360 Convertible 13 - ap0016ng
motherboard number DA0X36MBAE0 REV E
massive burned and shortet mosfets. after removing them still shortet in the i think "main power rail"
found a shorted capacitor. removed it and the short is gone.
i want to try a crazy repairwhich is hard because the mosfets are like welded on one side to the track. is there a method to get this loose ?
in this area another capacitor was shortet.

by UL161Hi I am trying to refurbish this crossover with some higher quality poly-caps/parts... The speaker is a in-wall Polk 65-RT... Key questions I have are:
1) What in the world is the yellow part on the board (label is MET 1.0J 100V)?... Should I even consider replacing it?
2) The 470uF cap.... Does anyone know have a suggestion as to where I can find a reasonable audio quality polycap near that value? (or at least 3 160s or the like?) { I don't want to spend $70 just to replace this one if I can) (maybe even someone looking at this circuit could even tell if this cap is important...-

by cloghinApologies if I am asking the wrong questions , but not sure how else to start:
I have an A2251 / 820-01949 Mac book pro with no power, 20 v on USBC meter and 0.05 Amps. Following this link ( below)
* Do I need to remove the board from case so I can access its other side ? The link calls for measuring PP3v3_S5 ( I suppose this is in diode mode with positive probe on ground) , but I don't know how to do that without removing the board from case.
* I have the FlexBV board , are the values displayed in volts diode mode only ? Because my etekcity multimeter shows... -
by Cappy OliganI'm new to electronic repair. Trying to troubleshoot a Dell monitor that only has an AC port for power. I'm concerned about safety and not getting shocked. Should I order an isolation transformer and plug in the monitor into that and proceed with testing the board inside? Or should I get a DC power supply and limit the amps and connect the voltage to a pin somewhere inside where 19V DC is first expected? Or both? Thanks.

by JofoHello everyone,
I am a newbie and this is my first repair attempt on eVGA GTX 970 that I bought from one guy. He said that his power supply died and took the graphics card with it and smelled smoke from the card too. When I took the card apart, one of the high-side MOSFETs was obviously damaged and there was a short on one of the PCIe connectors.
The situation now is as follows:
- The choke was already damaged when I disassembled the card
- I've desoldered the high-side MOSFET "H" that was damaged, short gone...09-29-2022, 03:22 AM - Loading...
