    Samsung UN46d6400 Tcon/Display

The display pulsates a line on the bottom of the display when turned on.
I can sometimes see some picture in the pulses
I get perfect sound and right half of the picture if I unplug the ribbon
cable from T-con to the left half of the display.
So Is the T-con bad or could it be the circuit board shorted out that is
is connected to the display on that half of the display in other words is that
half of the Panel Bad? and how can I tell without swapping a T-con board that
as my luck would have it Shop-Jimmy is out of stock
I also forced back light on according to Samsung Guide and
the back light worked perfect. But whatever is shorted seems to be pulsating the back light as well as the picture. I am on Dial-Up so the pics may be too small to see I can attempt re-up larger ones if needed but I think you get what I mean about this TV

    Thanks Everyone

Im afraid it sounds like a faulty panel. What happens if you leave the ribbon plugged in to the bad side and disconnect the ribbon on the good side?
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Seeing tons of D-Series 2011 Samsung dying recently on favourite auction sites, 90% with panel failures.

I have just for parts, a 46D6420 3D, Bluetooth, wifi, etc TV with the same exact issue.
Samsung went from capacitor issues to panel issues. I would say, that is an improvement.

Update The owner of the TV wants to try T con anyway and has ordered one
so I'll update after we try it.
Also I didn't notice before but with the bad side plugged in the T con makes a clicking noise
in time with the picture pulsing unplug bad side and plug in good side and there is no clicking.

                    Re: Samsung UN46d6400 Tcon/Display

I think it's partially caused by heat issues. I have a you and 32 series 32 inch D series Samsung LCD and you have no idea how hot the LED backlight get around the edges of the screen its sad and I think this is a contributing factor to an LCD panel failing
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Update Info Swap T-Con Same problem
                      Tv = Junk
Took Panel frame apart and found the problem
Burned Panel Wires on bad side (see pics) not the best quality pics But I show you the Good side of the Screen Versus The Bad Side
Every Samsung tv I work on have bad panels and I tell my customers
                      to never buy Samsung

I have had good luck with my Sharp Brand Tv's and wonder if anyone
else finds them to be a better Quality Or Not

Sharp >>> Samsung for sure. Samsung QC is terrible.

Looks like ANOTHER dead panel, I've lost count for this week.
