    Samsung PN58A550S1FXZA Vertical Line

I have a Samsung PN58A550S1FXZA and a single skinny line has appeared in the bottom right that goes about halfway up the screen. The line is usually green but sometimes is not green or not present based on the background. The green line is most noticeable on blue and red backgrounds. I attached a photo

I have confirmed it is present in multiple inputs and have tried unplugging the tv and then plugging it back in.

I am a competent DIYer and would love any advice on what could need fixed or is wrong.

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

I believe it's one of three things in order of likelihood:
    - The address board that runs along the bottom of the panel in the vicinity of the line is bad.
    - The connector to the address board is loose or dirty.
    - The panel (chip on flexible ribbon cable between the panel and address board) is bad <-- not repairable

Sorry bit of a newb, when you say address board do you mean the Y-buffer board that controls the bottom half the tv?

It is my understanding that the Y buffer board is cheap and easy to repair. Playing with the connector sounds like the easier first step but i'll order one of those boards.

The ones on eBay are all used - i dont supposed that is a big deal, right?

      Thanks,
      Chris

No: "The address board that runs along the bottom of the panel in the vicinity of the line is bad".

Edit: It might be called "E-buffer", "F-Buffer", or "G-Buffer". I'm not familiar with this particular Samsung. If they're installed in alphabetical order, it's most likely the G-buffer. It's best to get a schematic or open the TV to confirm: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsear...ZA+&restrictBy[master+part+type]=Buffer+Board

Thanks. After some additional conversations and research I think the plasma is going bad. Everyone said that a think line that is not across the screen is the plasma. If it was a thicker longer line that it could be a buffer.

Is this consistent with your experiences?

          Thanks,
          Chris

Samsung UN50TU8000FXZC shows thin horizontal green line when warm
            by cubytus
            Hi to all,

I was given this TV, an entry-level 4K 50" set. Some have criticized its lack of contrast and relatively poor colour rendering, but for my needs, it's very decent.

I reset everything to factory settings, but this line keeps on fading in and out when watching a streaming channel from the Tizen firmware. Interestingly, it only happens when TV is warm, after about 1h45 of it being turned on.

Watching a movie from an external source doesn't trigger the line as easily (needs 2 hours), and from a normal viewing distance, is hardly noticeable. It...

Samsung UE58TU7100K - no picture, vertical line
            by mrsith
            Hi.

Got UE58TU7100K with no picture - backlight comes on though. Figured out that's a perfect candidate for cut tape method.

This model has just one LVDS tape coming off main board - and two panel boards underneath the LCD screen are connected to each other via small tape. Like curved screens. I've tried to disconnect half of the screen (5he side without LVDS connector on it, obviously), no joy.

Disconnected the tape (main board side). Applied a small piece of tape, covering first ~4-5 pins. Powered the TV on - got picture. In negative, but that's...

Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN - vertical and horizontal stripes across the screen
            by kotel studios
            Hi,

Just now my Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN monitor gave up on me. On cold boots I get many vertical stripes going across the screen (see the attached picture). After it runs for 1-2 minutes those go away but there are horizontal stripes going across the whole screen no matter of the input and PCs I use. (couldn't take an picture of it since the image size goes to 20MB and the camera doesn't pick them up)

In a video about a 27" monitor with an similar issue the guy removes one resistor and supposedly the entire monitor goes back to life? For sure this fix is only temporary....

Vizio E701i-A3 fixed but now has red vertical line
            by otaku_nut
Hi all, I tried searching the site for answers but I'm a bit over my head understanding some of what might apply and what doesn't, so please be patient with me. I used Freakaftr8's fix to remove the left driver board to restore picture to a black screen with sound Vizio E701i-A3. After doing so, I now have a large red vertical stripe down the center of the screen. The fix did require getting another t-con board from online, I ordered it before I knew about the mosfit fix for the old t-con board. I have tried cleaning the cable connections to the t-con board. I swapped the cables going from...
