    baird j047 no power

hi all got this set in today

someone has taken away the rocker switch from the bottom I replaced power board with a known working one and I have no light no power no nothing but the thing is its wired straight from ac input to the power board no switch inbetween

I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of this rocker switch
or can shed some light on this

If the rocker switch is bypassed the set should still power up, do you have 230V at input? 5V standby OK or not?
I had some guy pull cable from inside so screen did not appear smashed, luckily did not pay much for that.

Pictures? Use AC range on meter to measure AC.

If you are not confident around mains AC voltages please get someone else to test or watch you while you do so. It's not worth getting electrocuted over a TV!

some cheapo sets have a single pole switch connecting to the power supply (some vestel chassis do), in that case all that's required is to jumper across that. You need to know your way round the primary side I agree get someone else to test if you're not confident, mains voltage isn't something you want to mess with.

Sometimes the switch plugs into the ZERO WATT connection on the power board.

hi I have retested everything again with another good power supply and can tel you I have 5v standby only no other voltages

I think this is a case of the power needs to be switched on
              any ideas

Have you even got 230V on the input to the board?! How about some pictures?
