    17pw20 v2 ~ 17pw15-8

Slight differences between these 2 PSU's

The differences are between PL810, PL805 and PL806 on the PW15.... and PL812 and PL811 on the PW20.

    Attached few snips of schematics.

    Possible to rewire?

The 15-9 fits both 20v1 and I believe (check first) 20v2 for 26" and 32" screens. Not suitable for 37".

      Mines a 37"

Sure its possible to switch this one around, not much difference in it.

I have both here, PW20 is kaput though...

Oh and tom, this 37" had a 17pw20 v2 in it

Don't try putting a 15-8 series in a 37"... if it works it will fail shortly... most likely the screen will strobe because it just pulls too much power. You have to use a 20 series either v1 or v2.

This PW15-8 was pulled from a 37" according to it. I'm going to try it anyway... any idea where to start with these connectors?

Can you show how the connectors physically look?

                      Best I can do Tom.

The red 2 lead connector is for the On/Off on the PW20

IIRC someone sells a kit to adapt the two PSUs.

But it's probably not worth the cost.

Most of the main connectors are the same, you may be able to leave the other one unhooked if you don't mind a non functional main on/off switch (standby will still work.)

Ok made my own loom.... Set powers up no problem, I will break the 5STBY track and solder in the on/off switch.

Buzzing coming from the speakers now... only low buzz and when i press the channel up or down its stops briefly then comes back.

                          Any idea?

I've never been able to trace buzzing down fully but sometimes found that turning the backlight up or the dynamic mode off helps, it's related to the interference the PWM from the backlight injects onto the 24V (which the amplifier uses.)
