Re: pioneer pro-506 XMain issue
So you did have to increase the voltage to the panel to get it to operate properly. Do you expect any long term effects of that, notwithstanding the panel already has 67000 hours on it.Comment

Re: pioneer pro-506 XMain issue
67,000 hrs is impressive, not surprising the panel wore out! Any burn in? The pixel half life is only about 50,000 hrs!
But, I would still try leaving Vsus around 220V, and tweak Vset voltage (or similar.) Any effect? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: pioneer pro-506 XMain issue
I was misreading something. This tv actually has 70,000 hours on it. Lol thought my BMW M5 with 204,000 miles on her was crazy.
Yes there is pixel burn and if I turn the vsus down you can really see it in the lower right hand corner someone was watching good day Sacramento and you can see how it doesn't want to charge those pixels because they are darker than the rest when the vsus is set down to its intended voltage then you can see.
Also has the standard pioneer issue where letterbox been using its darker in the center that it is on the whole screen every Pioneer I have seen her come in contact with seems to have that same issue.
oddly enough the TV had a hard time charging the pixels that are used in the letterbox not was essentially why I had to turn up the voltage because in the center the screen it's used harder than any other areas the TV screen and that was the hardest part to charge.

Re: pioneer pro-506 XMain issue
This is at 205vdc vsus. Letterbox area non existent.

I tried tweaking the vset and leaving vsus low with no result. Tried xsus adjustments as well. No result. The panel simply put needs to be driven harder in this stage of its life.
This is a first for me. Longest running panel I have encountered before this was 40,000 hours.
I must hand it to pioneer thou. The picture is still nice and bright. Better in comparison to my 2012 panny TC-50UT50!Last edited by freakaftr8; 11-26-2013, 09:48 AM.Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: pioneer pro-506 XMain issue
Well, that's impressive. How old is it? It must be at least 8 years old, because if it were watched continuously, that would just about put it around 24 hours/day.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

My math shows that it has not been turned off since Nov. 2005. Im sure with the build date and betwwen that and Nov of 05 thats the power cylce. Its peen power cycled roughly 2000 times.Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: pioneer pro-506 XMain issue
Oh and here is what the black background looks like. You can see the heavy usage in letterbox.

by wizard13Hello everyone,
I am experiencing a BIOS-related issue with my Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100. When I power on the laptop, the screen stays black, and there is no response from the system. I suspect a corrupted BIOS.
I have checked the forum and the available documentation but could not find a solution specific to my issue.- Brand & Model: Dynabook Satellite Pro C50D-B-100

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by cloudyHi everybody
Since day one I'm having an unpleasant contrast/brightness issue on my Asus laptop.
Basically while watching movies, if subtitles appear on screen, the contrast or the brightness of the entire screen increases a lot (not sure if it'is brightness or contrast), disturbing the viewing of the movie.
Last year I replaced my screen because got damaged and this contrast/brigthness issue persists. It happens only on the laptop screen, in fact If i plug an external HDMI screen the issue does not occour on it.
It occours both on ubuntu and windows...01-01-2023, 05:12 PM -
by ScHAmPiHi all,
Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:
I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...2 Photos -
by smic717394Hi,
I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on... - Loading...
