    Sony BU board question

I Have a KDL-52W5100 and i have a thread that has been forgotten and i apologize over starting a new thread over this but my question is simple.

I am looking at the service manual i found and it says to use "A-1734-658-A" and i went to shop jimmy and it showed that model number board to be used in this TV however when i looked at the board in the actual TV it was a "A-1671-682-A" and this looks to be used in the XBR9 a different TV and 65 inch models as well, so should i look to get another 1671 or a 1734??

    Re: Sony BU board question

You should order the board as in the TV, as long as you're sure that's the original.

The number in the manual will not match whats on the board itself, that number is usually the number of the blank pc board. Watch the video on shopjimmys site http://www.shopjimmy.com/sony-a-1734-658-a-a-board.htm

I have seen that video maybe 3 times and am well aware of how they take model numbers and the Service Manual does have the right stuff in it not just some random stuff. It is more so a question of what all will work and i have been reading and what i have come to the conclusion of is what model TV is the BU board flashed for.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

            Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

            Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
            by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
            CN6401
            Pin 01 NC
            Pin 02 NC
            Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
            Pin 04 "N/C"
            Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
            Pin 06 "GND": N/C
            Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Sony Vaio SVS MBX-261 board failure
            by delpiero3
Hi everyone, newcomer in this forum, i watched tons of video from Sorin, i like the way i calmly explain things, i did quite some console repair, i am not that bad at micro-soldering, but troubleshooting where the issue is, is definitely where i still have progress to make. Usually i was able to fix the console because the failure was obvious, or because i was able to find someone with similar measures on the board and was pinpointing what to replace that way.
Nevertheless, let's say, i don't come as a total beginner.
I have this old laptop, which suit perfectly my needs, with the...

Sony KDL-40Z4500 LCD with stripes and 9 blinks (possible BGC board or harness problem
            by huj3r
            Hi there!

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40Z4500 which shows a colored vertical stripes pattern when turning on, with a central black shadow that slowly dissipates within the first 10 seconds.

Photo of the situation after the black shadow dissipates:

After this behavior the red LED will blink 9 times, then pause for a bit, and blink again 9 times, in a loop.

I checked the manual (available here) and this corresponds to "HFR error", quoting from the manual:

            > This indicates HFR Communication error. [ HFR Communication...
