That meter is fine, but are you using the left hand volt scale (DC) or right hand (AC)?

Re: Cello C32109F v2 Sound No Picture

Am I right to assume this is then a psu fault, rather than av/main board

as i've gone through the menus on the tv and checked the usb and other ports which all seem to work fine apart from the backlight obviously,

can't find much info on the psu only from the thread I linked to in the last page and can't seem to find one in the UK either to buy

Yes it will most likely be the PSU

I will get a little more time later to help and no doubt Tom will too.

thanks, sourced a psu, off flattvparts for £40 if the fault can't be diagnosed

              better picture of the psu

I was about to suggest testing the frequency on the inverter but looking back your DMM doesn't have a Hz function.

I cannot find a schematic for this board anywhere and am at a loss on where to point you next, Not sure if someone else can help out.

Could you possibly get a good clear high res shot of the foil side of the board with enough detail to read any markings?

Re: Cello C32109F v2 Sound No Picture

ok heres some, on closer inspection it appears i have a bad component not sure on the name it looks kind of off compared to the rest a bit buldged if you like

sorry but my camera is acting up struggling to stay in focus

hope these are ok, i can't find any images anywhere with detailed views of those parts and part numbers, how would i go about replacing it without a valid part number?

thinking of ordering the psu off flattv then i can get a reference for part numbers at least and possibly fix this psu at a later date

am i correct assume d18 would stand for diode? a smd one at that?

@tom66 any ideas on sourcing a part or identifying it?

                    better image of the underside

got my overhead lens on it and can see the same (i think) diode across from it below it read a7w 16 (from what i can read) which is a small switching diode correct?

can't find a replacement for it with the same part number

does anyone know what voltage i should be seeing on the BK pin?

just remeasured it again, at turn on it's at 0 then after the tcon has done whatever and flashed blue it then reads 4.3-4.34 volts

so got another psu, still the same

all pin measurements the same too

                        so presume a dead backlight?

considering buying a slimline led strip and wiring it up

nvm, wierd there was a 3 pin jumper with

                            12v
                            vcc panel
                            5v

so set it to vcc panel and 5v and turned on and got a backlight, but still couldnt see the picture, so turned off and put it back to the 12v and vcc and now it works

strange it never worked off the bat

ok i'm not sure if the tcon or main board has been damaged when the original psu failed

as it seems to only turn the backlight on when powered from cold so to speak

for instance if I turn the tv on the backlight comes on if I then put it into standby and turn it on more often than not the backlight stays off.

If i flick the power switch at the side cutting the voltage when in standby and then leave it there for a few second then turn the switch back on and power on with the remote the backlight comes on every time.

failing backlight? failing tcon? or main board?

still having issues with this, takes a couple of on offs to get the BL to kick in

                                  tcon or main board issue?

                                  already replaced the psu

                                      Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                                      - sound and backlight, but no picture
                                      - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                                      - it keeps rebooting
                                      - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                                      - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                                      - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                                      - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and
                                      ...

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound

                                      Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

                                      Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                                      Symptom:
                                      No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                                      No sound at all.

                                      What I tried:
