TV is now (mostly) working with a new power board kindly provided by another member on here - that power board had the common 10 blinks fault which was the original fault with this TV although with different causes (the cause on the original being of course the complete fuck-up of a job the original guy did, which damaged who-knows-how-many parts...) After repairing that power board the TV now powers on OK. However I accidentally damaged one of the ribbons going from the D board to the C boards, so I need to replace that. Anyway, it's MOSTLY working now . It's been in my room for 3 month+ so I want to get it out of here... as nice as it is!

The old board will be scavenged for spares, mostly the AC detect board that I need for the PZ80 which is intermittently detecting no AC power.

well its a good fix eitherway even more so when you can salvage a board that was likely to be scrapped so all you need is the replacement ribbon cable then its another set saved from the tip.

TV now lives thanks to sordids999 who kindly sent me a faulty power board (10blinks fault), which has now been repaired, plus some spare ribbons from him too.

A long success story, after 3 months!

Photo shows bad ribbon with hole in it due to my error, and OK ribbon.

Anyone need any spare ribbons for this set - I have two now - will kindly pay it forwards for anyone who finds themselves in the same situation as me.

good fix tom yes it took a bit of time but its done so which psu did you use sordids one with parts in from yours? as the original board in this thread did you bad.

I just repaired sordids one by borrowing an MC module from my one (which I'd done the cap fix on already), though I suspect I could have fixed it anyway.

Yes, same module repair as yours. 10 blinks is a common fault and can be fixed, though it requires extremely steady hands and a loupe to see board. I like these sets so much I kept two for myself!

Samsung on back burner while I wait for tools to arrive to finish repair.

Got another 52" SHARP to look at soon too, same model as last time, but shorted inverter... more on that later.

yes ive decided im keeping the plasma for my self i might try to get a surround sound system for it as well haha its been running 100% well to be honest starts every time and yes very small pads to solder new cap leads on to but as per another thread i managed it easily with a old maplins variable soldering iron station with a pointed tip and just solder wick so imo these repairs can be carried out with just basic tools you just need a steady hand and a loupe imo and be careful with the pads/tracks with the heat.
