Hi all,
I have this plasma TV that I repaired a couple of years ago (bad capacitors on the power board). I am having a different issue now.
The screen went out on the left side (looking at the screen). It is mostly White with spaced lines (line colors are Red, green Purple and Red). When it first started it would sometimes be mostly black with the colored lines. It did happen to work the next day for a few hours or more, then reverted back to the issue where it stayed.
Pictures included: (Looking at the back of the TV, the right side is on the right which is the same as the left side if looking at the TV from the front) Picture 8 is labeled with the connectors that I unplugged. Only one cable was unplugged at a time. Pictures 1-8:
1. Problem that I have. Untouched.
2. Rightmost 'power' cable unplugged from bottom board (see pic 8 for details)
3. Right most 'power' cable unplugged (another view)
4. 2nd to last right 'power' cable unplugged from bottom board
5. Flat ribbon cable (right side) unplugged.
6. All plugged back in and reseated. Same issue.
7. Back shot of TV electronics.
8. Close-up of back right side and labeled to correspond with the numbers above.
I have checked all voltages and they seem within range but I am in the process of re-checking ALL of them just to be sure. This is all of the clues that I have right now. I can only think of three possible problems:
1. Panel is bad. (Hopefully not as I get different results when different cables are unplugged.
2. Control board is bad. I need to find a better way to test it.
3. The long board on the bottom is bad. I need to find a better way to test it.
Any thoughts? Any help will be appreciated!
