I have an interesting on. I had a vertical line issue. I just recieved a new TCon board, hooked it up and when i turned it on the backlights never kicked on. I unplugged the power from the tcon board and tried again and the backlights come on but nothing else, as expected. Here is the part that is confusing me, I then plugged the tcon back in, but unplugged the ribbon from the inverter to the tcon board. Fired up the tv and everything seems to work perfect. Should it be working fine without the small cable from inverter to tcon board hooked up? Will it hurt anything by running it this way? Now a couple of days later i get a little bit of timing issues at startup, but after a few mins everything is ok

Re: Vizio xvt473sv tcon questoin
That cable is probably the sync cable for keeping the inverter synchronised with the t-con, it blanks the backlight when the t-con is updating the screen which creates the illusion of a faster screen update. It should be plugged in though it may work without it...Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

The board could work in one way and be faulty in another way, if you picked up the board from eBay or another internet site, they are mostly reclaimed parts (from damaged TVs) that are rarely tested. Please do not PM me with questions!
