Re: LG 50PQ30 Heatsinks
I certainly wouldn't part out a plasma with only a damaged Y-sus, I'd sell the TV on as faulty or look for a new Y-sus.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 50PQ30 Heatsinks
The thing is i think the control board is faulty also because the led on that has not been on since i have had this tv. And the test i performed to see if it worked the led would not flash. That is another $50 or so and the Y-sus is easily $70.Comment

Re: LG 50PQ30 Heatsinks
And how much is a 50", 720p plasma TV worth in your area?
Control board might only light up if Y-sus is OK if it performs test of Y-sus on start up.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 50PQ30 Heatsinks
Ok. i know its been awhile but i finally ordered a new y-sus from this seller on amazon stating that this was a new oem part. Anyway. i installed this and the tv still does not show a picture. There is sound but no picture. I checked all the voltages going from the power supply into the y-sus and everything is correct. I leave the tv on for around 30 minutes and the heatsinks will not warm up on either board but the power supply heats up. Anything else it could be or did i get a bad part? ThanksComment

Do you have any voltage across the -Vy and Vsc testpoints on Y-sustain?Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 50PQ30 Heatsinks
Could you please explain this alittle better. Still kind of new to it. I see a VSC and VY on the board with a thing kind of looking like a resistor? I dont know if these are the test points. And what would you put your meter on to test these voltages? Does the tv need to be on or off?Comment

Re: LG 50PQ30 Heatsinks
There's a sticker on the back of the plasma module marked "Model: PDP50K5#####" (for example) what is your model code? Note: not the same as 50PQ30.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Ugh, completely missed your posts, sorry.
50G2 panel is included in this guide:

Re: LG 50PQ30 Heatsinks
Ok...on the z-sus board i did not have the test points like in the guide for VZbias. I did have where it had VZB to the right of the picture but not the top where it says VZB. I tested that spot just in case and i got 71.6 . Also i got the results VY- 189.3 and VSC 135.8.
i did these measurements with my multimeter set at dcv with a straight line and dotted line over the v.Last edited by pposey; 12-30-2013, 07:24 PM.Comment

Re: LG 50PQ30 Heatsinks
Do those voltages agree with the panel sticker? The Vzb sounds a little low -- would normally be in the 90 ~ 120V range. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 50PQ30 Heatsinks
I adjusted the vsc but something just doesnt seem right about the VZB. I keep getting eractic voltages. I do not know if im measuring in the right spot or not. Would you like me to get you a picture of my Z-sus board to show me where to measure this at?
Ok scratch that. I did not see in the photo they said i can measure across C239 to get the reading which is what im doing but the voltages are everywhere.Last edited by pposey; 12-30-2013, 07:59 PM.Comment

Re: LG 50PQ30 Heatsinks
I would definitely look at Z-sustain then. Also, if you like, try comparing voltages with your old Y-sustain. You can leave the buffer boards out. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 50PQ30 Heatsinks
I have another question, since the Z-sus is plugged into the Y-sus, does the Z-sus get its power from the Y-sus? I have not seen another cable that connects the Z-sus to the power supply.Comment

by leggLG42PC3D -UD originally with green lamp but no display or audio.
Owner says was working, then went 'pop'.
All 5V caps bulging. replaced.
All PSU output voltages within spec but -Vy is low on YSUS.
One of three parallel fets between SUS_OUT and SUS_DN is zenering,
eventually shorts DG. Replaced all 3 - -Vy now OK.
Y scan buffer test point does not follow YSUS output below -50V
Note: This unit seems to expect YSUS output to park at -Vy in between
drive signal pattern periods. A replacement drive signal board confirms this....11-18-2021, 11:49 AM -
Greetings all!
Originally this set had the usual messed up video symptoms such as: horizontal lines, weak, grainy video, bottom and top of picture differ in intensity of problem. It also seemed to slow to turn on or show the messed up picture.
Seemed like must be YScan/buffer board failure. Ordered buffer boards from my distributor which were supposed to be original/new and also from another distributor, I ordered the YSUS because I wanted to replace it for preventative maintenance. (also, the YSUS had a bulged cap, so there was even more reason to suspect it could... -
by zwarderHi
Had shorted YSUS
Q24 RPJ63F3
C726 cap
Q11 K3667
R528 & R529 2.2 ohm
replaced all of these but still trips psu VS & VA are a bit low when ysus disconnected. IC301 does look a bit burnt however
ZSUS is also good as far as I can tell
Anyone could help me out on this one -
by macesHello all,
I have a problem with my LG 60PH6608. The TV is only clicking and doesn't get started.
I checked the power supply and measured that the 200V is shorted at the YSUS board.
All IGBTs, the MOSFET K8A60DA and the diode D603 are shorten.
So I replaced the parts. I checked the further parts for shorts and I was pretty sure that there is no further problem on the board.
So I plugged it in. Directly, resistor R251 (2,2 Ohm) blowed out with a little spark. Immediately I disconnected the TV from supply.
I checked the replaced parts (IGBTs, MOSFET... -
by Uranium-235Has anyone ever gone down this road? I have a number of copper (and copper plated :/ ) and aluminum heatsinks. As well as full computers. Ever heard of any companies that will buy them off me (for not that much probably). I've been sending them to e-recycling
I kept a beige taaaaall antec case, going to try TC's yellowing remover and try to create an old system. Probably multiboot with DOS and 98 and 2k to cover all my bases
Maybe even use a certain Voodoo5 card in it-
