hitachi plasma turns on then back off

    Hey guys,
I have a 42 in plasma I found dead in a yard. I got it home and plugged it in and it had no power. That was a couple months ago. The other day it turned on but it will come on for a few seconds with a display then I hear the power supply board discharge around the transformer large capacitor area for the screen wires. The power LED goes from solid green to a steady blinking green after discharge. Also voltage is normal 80v dc when display is on then goes to around 2-3 vdc when screen turns off. Any thoughts? I tested all caps for esr and 2 read .00. The rest had good readings. Also when the screen goes off it sounds like a. Contactor click by the transformer.

I have a similar problem with a Hitachi 50in P50S602. It powers on and the panel lights up with snow/static for three seconds and then everything turns off except for the blinking front LED. From what I've gathered so far, it could be a power supply problem, but some info indicates that it could be something else. I'm looking into how to test the power supply components for failure. Good luck

Yeah, I can hear a click near the main caps on the power supply before it shuts down. Sorry, it's been a while since I've been on. I started back up on the tv and now the screen won't even turn on. I'm going to check for my op. voltages again and if they are there i'm going to try and shoot some "freeze spray" on the area near the main caps.
