Samsung un32j5205af turns on, but needs to have power disconnected to power back on

SAMSUNG UN32J5205AF

Wierd issue. Set turns on, works as normal, then turn off, and when you try to turn back on, it wont. The backlight comes on, but doesnt boot up. You need to disconnect power supply from back, then reconnect it, and then the set works again. somewhat annoying issue.

Where to start? I can provide any videos or pictures needed to troubleshoot....

one easy thing to check is the solder joints on powerboard, look them over closely see if any are bad, examples of bad joints, in case anyone looking on needs it: https://www.google.com/search?q=bad+...ih=607&dpr=1.5

It seems a software problem, maybe a standby software portion. I see a Winbond flash, you can try rewrite it. Anyway it can be the main software in the emmc flash, mainly that i think..

That's a great idea, I would agree, it doesnt seem like a hardware issue to me, do you have any instruction or help on how to flash/re-write the winbond flash?

Which IC would need to be re-written?

The chip is the one with 8pins labeled Winbond, you need at least a ch431a programmer, maybe with clip, or other more expensive programmers like rt809f, tl866ii+
