I have looked through several of the threads on this site and have not found the exact answers to my questions so I created a new thread. Here is the background info.
Yesterday, while watching my P50G10, there was a loud pop and the screen went out. At first I shut it off to prevent any possible problems but turned it back on once I read online about the error codes being displayed by the LED. The LED showed 7 blinks. I pulled the power cord and tried to find more info. When I checked the LED again it now displayed only 6 blinks. It is now consistently displaying 6 blinks only. I found the manual for this model but no troubleshooting guide to help with narrowing down the faulty component.
I did find a troubleshooting guide for a TC-P50ST50. This guide had a flow chart that showed how to confirm the component for a 6 blink fault. It stated that I should pull the SC20 connector and see if the blinks changed to 8. The blinks stayed at 6 so this guide states that the A board is bad.
My concern is that this guide may not be applicable for my model of TV. Is this the correct way to narrow down the issue on this set? I would like to get this set fixed correctly.
