    Panasonic TC-P50G10 7 blinks, now 6 - Need help

I have looked through several of the threads on this site and have not found the exact answers to my questions so I created a new thread. Here is the background info.

Yesterday, while watching my P50G10, there was a loud pop and the screen went out. At first I shut it off to prevent any possible problems but turned it back on once I read online about the error codes being displayed by the LED. The LED showed 7 blinks. I pulled the power cord and tried to find more info. When I checked the LED again it now displayed only 6 blinks. It is now consistently displaying 6 blinks only. I found the manual for this model but no troubleshooting guide to help with narrowing down the faulty component.

I did find a troubleshooting guide for a TC-P50ST50. This guide had a flow chart that showed how to confirm the component for a 6 blink fault. It stated that I should pull the SC20 connector and see if the blinks changed to 8. The blinks stayed at 6 so this guide states that the A board is bad.

My concern is that this guide may not be applicable for my model of TV. Is this the correct way to narrow down the issue on this set? I would like to get this set fixed correctly.

6 blinks is generally Sc board, SC boards are a common failure but buffers should also be resistance checked in case they have shorted as well.

Does also mention SS, SD,SU as possibles but the SC would be key suspect.

This is probably what you want.

Where would I find a reliable replacement board?

went through the procedure and it looks like the SC board is the problem. I will try to find one and report back with results.

There is a kit on eBay for the SC board (assuming it's the TNPA4782 that I'm dealing with) for $62. It includes 2 diodes and 5 MOSFETs. From the description, if there is a short at connector SC2, it is the correct kit for this board. I am not the seller, nor can I confirm that this kit will do the trick. Just a heads up.

Thanks, I saw that too. Just not sure if these parts will fix my issue. I have 6 blinks now. I do see one of the surface mounted components that appears to be blown, it has the part # "HB1707FP" (or MB1707FP or N1707FP) on it, I think. There is a hole in the top of this component and it is hard to read.

It is actually "M81707FP" it is a Mosfet per the webpage that I found. It states, "M81707FP is high voltage Power MOSFET and IGBT mod-ule driver". No place around me has a board, just a few repair places on Ebay that I have found so far. I will keep looking.
