47lm620t-47lm640t blue screen only

just bought these cheap

lg 47lm620t
lg 47lm640t

bought both
one has a smashed panel still lights up etc

and the other only has a blue screen with sound

any ideas before they arrive

right busy working on this lg 47lm620 I have a grey screen no picture backlight and hdmi working as I can here the audio lovely and crisp just no picture


now ive tested the tcon fuse and I get 12v both sides some times and 0v others backlight seems t sometimes dim and brighten and

is main fine do you rekon

im heading toward a psu im hoping as the the 47lm640 has same supply

Is it the one with blue screen, now it is grey? Which one that has smashed screen?

47lm640t smashed but psu I think can be swapped

47lm620t grey screen has backlight no picture but has sound the tcon fuse is 12v's then no 12v's funny that

could I switch these psu if all connector pins are same voltage value etc as they not the same board but may be compatable

also heres another one to throw ya

would it be possible to transport the psu and mainboard from 640t onto screen of the 620t

If the connectors are the same on the *640 for the panel as the *620, a transplant operation should be possible; whether the patient will survive depends on how heavy the LCD panel is and how much room you have got. (I'm assuming the frames are different so you can't just put main board/PSU/inverter in other TV?)

tom the frame is same and all the boards will fit either
the psu on 640 is smaller in board size but has the same connector pattern I was going to start with the psu first then do a switch with main+inbuiltcon onto 620 panel just don't want to kill the screen will this kill screen or not just with he codes for panel model being slightyy different
and I think the 640t panel was more power hungry than the 620t according to the datasheet

all I want to do with the Frankenstein mod is put the 640t psu and maintcon (tcon is onboard av main ) and latch it straight to screen via the 2 tcon flexi ribbons I just scared incase it ruins pane driver boards

THE ABOVE SHOULD NOT MATTER AS ILL BE USING THE 620T SCREEN

First off all power connectors are same on both power boards all same connections and ratings


can i try this power board now?

switching parts didn't work so put sets back to normal



think I found problem the tcon chip is scading hot tom what can cause this its ths one n the picture closest to right screw



ive measured the fuse on tcon again since set has sound and backlight still measuring 11,8v both ways and meter on ohms at 20k setting gives 0.9.1 one way and 0.7.9 other

any ideas

Can you read the number on the top of the IC?

ill open the back up again soon are the readings from tcon fuse fine

WHAT WOULD HAVE MADE THIS IC LIKE THAT THOUGH BUDM

General failure or bad panel. Try unplugging panel ribbons. Does it still get burning hot?

WITH BOTH TOP SCREEN FLEXI CABLES CONNECTED TO TCON THE IC I MENTIONED EARLIER GETS SCORCHNG HOT
DISCONNECTED BOTH SCREEN FLEXI CABLES AND TCON IS STONE COLD

SO I THOUGHT WHY NOT TRY JUST ONE OF THEM SO I TRIED THIS ONE AND IC GET VERY HOT AGAIN

THEN THIS ONE AND THE IS STAYED COOL LETS CHECK THE SCREEN AND YUP HALF A CLEAR PICTURE



IS THIS STILL A SUSPECTED PANELFAILURE

Well bit the bullet and took the panel aprt guess what some kind of liquid goo lol think some one spilt a drink on on it

gong to need hep on this guys will post all info and photos shortly i think she can be fixed
