    vp50hdtv20a Picture issues

Just picked up a Vizio vp50hdtv20a Plasma. There are a lot of posts about this model. The issue I am having is that it will power up and the screen will flash mainly on the right side of screen for a split second then go out but if you look closely you can see a slight dim light sorta fuzzy but very slight. I will post pics but any initial thoughts?

Here are some pics. Set does power and doesn't go into shut down just no picture. I did find a swollen cap on the one board and replaced it with no change.

Ok Found a small defect on the upper buffer chip. Removed the chip and half of the screen is now lit.

Not very brightly lit but lit.

Here is a picture of the screen with the upper buffer board removed. I have it connected to a Blue Ray player and can hear sound but thats it. Does it require the upper buffer board to actually show the picture or is there something else wrong?

Yes upper buffer needs to be connected, its in a series circuit, if no upper buffer present, sustain feed does not address the lower.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?
