Can you take a shot so the devices on the heatsink near D201 are visible? Looks like that area has got hot so is a candidate for failed semiconductors.

d301,307,372 are the ones i got "bad" readings on and d204 and rc101 are the 2 that according to the manual you are suppose to check to get 390v and i was only getting 174 volts between them

Only D204 and R101 are near the PFC section, so for now, those are the only ones of interest.

Any part #s on the PSU board that could be useful in tracking down a schematic?

i tried all the numbers on there to find 1 and came up with nothing. and did you mean a pic of the heatsink by 204 not 201?

1h349wa sanken and pdc10287h m and axy1150ae are all the numbers i looked for.and if you meant d204 then d205 and d206 are on the heat sink and i checked them and they seemed fine and they are the ones closest to d204 and the other 2 on the other end are q203 and q204 but i didn't see any signs of heat but i will take a pic

                  D205, D206 test good?
R209 and its partner test OK?

d205 and d206 both read about 435 with neg. ok k pin and pos. on a pin and when reversed they read open. r208 and 209 both read continuity.part # is ICE1PCS02 i think that is it

Board removed: resistance between 7 and 1 in 2000ohm scale, should read infinite.
Board removed: resistance between 8 and 1 in 2000ohm scale, should read infinite.

Board installed and turned on, check pin 7 to pin 1. It should be between 11.2V and 21V.

i got the infinite reading with the board not installed and my question is what do you mean by installed and turned on? i plugged the plug in for the ac power and the connector into the board and when i checked it said 0v or do i have to plug the connector in for the power button on the front and then turn that on and check it?

i connected everything back up and for the first time the red led on the power supply came on but i don't have any volts at the 1 and 7 pins and the red led on the main board is out and so are the standby and power on light. it isn't screwed to the chassis just sitting there. lol

You probably have to screw it down to give it a ground. There may be a bit of back-and-forth as the fault is located.
Yes, everything needs to be connected. TV should behave as before.

yeah i figured i would have to ground it but i still get the same thing 0v with the 1 and 7 pins but the thing that baffles me is why now is the light on the power supply on and the main board and the power led and standby led off now?

all the connectors are secure i reset the trap switch with the remote and when i did i have a jumper wire to connect the 2 wires for the trap switch so it doesn't know i have the back off it turned the standby and power leds off but keeps the power supply led on. when u get the trap switch error that leaves both the standby and power light on constantly now i don't have any lights other than the red led on the power supply.

Hello out there in Badcap land.

I have a Pioneer plasma that gave me the dreaded 8 red blink and shutdown, I have been trying to trace the failure points. On my last inspection while replacing a Y Sustain Board I noticed on the original and replacement board some missing solder, the points of connection
are from the Digital Address Board and the Buffer Boards. I have included the pictures, should I resolder these points or are they unsoldered intentionally? Any help would be much appreciated.

                                            Thank you

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?

I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Just starting to crack into this one and wanted to get the ball rolling.

At power on (plug in), power light on, relays click, repeat (sometimes)

After disconnecting Y-Main from SMPS power stays on and boot up jingle is heard from speakers

Removed Y-Main for inspection and testing

                                            This pic from:

I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...
