    Phillips 47" Flickering CCFL

    Model - Phillips 47PFL432D/37

Someone gave me this TV the right side backlight flickers rapidly, the left side didn't come on at all. I popped it open and there is 2 seperate inverter boards. A slave(left side, when facing screen) and Master(right). Immediately I see 2 35v 680uF caps on either board. All 4 are horrendously blown. I replaced all 4 with new ones and the problem persisted. So I thought surely it was the CCFLs.

I decided just for the fun of it to swap the master and slave boards to the opposite sides. The problem followed the boards. The previously flickering light was dead, and vice versa. I tested the transformers with an ohm meter and everything checked out fine there. I checked the MOSFet to the best of my knowledge as well as a few other semiconductors around the board.

I really don't know where to go from here...Is the slave board bad? Is the master? Could it still be the CCFLs? All caps looked good on Power Supply and tv stays on and works, just backlight flashing nonstop.

Can you post pics of your board layout? Also, what are the inverters' part numbers?

I'm not a photographer by any means, hopefully these are clear enough. If not I can try and take more, or zoom in more if need be. The solder doesn't looks so great on transformers, but that's how it was when I got it. They seem to do the job however. I do take responsibility for the not so great cap soldering though =P

I guess I should have been more clear: Can you post pics of the whole back of the TV to include all the boards? This does appear to be a simple inverter issue, though. I know some of these Philips inverters also require that the IC (location U1) be changed. You may want to pull one or more of the mosfets from the board to check them.

Yep, just as I suspected. There's a repair kit that calls for replacing the eight mosfets, IC, and caps. Maybe budm will chime in soon - he's pretty good a diagnosing LCD TV issues and working on these Philips inverters: http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/69/...-other-lcd-tvs

ACER BM320 Monitor - Horizonal Flickering Lines After a While
              by reessi
              Hello,

The monitor started off showing flickering thin (1 pixel) lines horizontally every say 3mm..

They are black on the right and gradually fade to nothing on the far left.
They start either after 5 mins or up to 2 hours after so annoying for testing.
They flicker continuously very fast! With a slight pause milli-second every second.

Initially I cleaned the LVDS cable and connected to the T-Con and then it worked fine for 3 weeks but not sure if this was just co-incidence.

I tested each half by removing the first the left flex from...

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
              by ttmi100x
              Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

              Upon closer inspection...

Help on Samsung Syncmaster T220 dead ccfl lamp
              by mikey5791
              Hi,

This monitor previously is my main working monitor which i have been using for 8~9 years. Yesterday, when i switched on my pc from fresh to power on, the monitor is just black no display. I started dismantle to look inside the monitor power board but nothing looks suspicious or burnt. So i took my external ccfl inverter to try to power the monitor ccfl lamps which consisted of 2 lamps on upper part and 2 lamps on the lower part.

Found out the upper ccfl lamp which is supposed to connect to cn304 on the power board did not light up. Then i installed a used working...

Fixing an I-Inc IF281D for the 3rd time, now with added flickering!
              by DrvLikHell
Hello everybody! It's been nine years and I'm back again with the same monitor that several people here helped me fix back then. The first time, I replaced two caps as was recommended here and the original problem was solved. Then it started acting up a few years later and I came back for a parts list and replaced a few more caps (I didn't make a post about that and don't remember which ones), and again the problem was solved. This time, however, I'm not sure if it's caps.

The monitor stays on but certain colors will flicker. Generally it's darker colors like dark greys or dark blues,...
