    Lg 55ld520c

    Hi Guys,
The set has no video. No OSD. The Main Board and Tcon are on one board.
All the P.S. voltages are good. You can see that the EEFL are good. There was place to test the Tcon section on the set due to the Mainboard and Tcon are combined into one board. All the suppliers dont have any used or refurbished. Only Endcompass has new boards for 170 bucks. The Original board # EBU010888T 61044602 End compass shows a EBR71385101 for this set. I downloaded a service manual and it breifly talks about updating firmware but set has no USB or RJ45 connection. Even if it did wouldn"t I need video on screen to make it work? It does have a RS232 port for control and service. How do I update firmware on this set before ordering a new Mainboard?
    Thanks.

I don't see that there is any firmware available for this TV on LG's site. I was thinking the RS232 might be your only option if firmware updates are allowed or available.

    Here's a board with a 60-day money back policy: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-55LD520C-...item3cd3cc2782

      Re: Lg 55ld520c

I saw another model that had the main board and control board combined that a jumper was attached to test the tcon section of the board but I failed to determine where to make the jump. Where would I make the jumper? . All voltages were reasonably close and there was back lighting. Am I wasting my time to check this and just order the main board? I could not find a complete schematic on the Main board, only partials in the service manual.
It would be comforting to see a test pattern so I can see that the screen / panel is good prior to spending money on board. I would hate to spend my money then to find out that the panel is bad, then i wasted my money and the customer will not pay.
      Thanks,

There is a Micom reset button SW1001 on Main Board schematic shows it resets IC 1002 F0513A (48 pin). No change. Set has no menu, backlight comes on. Put HDMI source to port, cycled through inputs never got video or audio. All PS voltages are good. Menue should work even if the HDMI ports were bad. Power surge was suspected cause. LG made several different main board for this model. MB is EBU61044602. I tried another board but for a different part # but for same 55LD520C. I checked the LDOs voltages were fine.
If they used different main boards did they use different screens that require a certain board for same model? Hints?
Once power button is pressed it takes about 10 seconds for backlight to turn on. On audio is heard when turning on

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
          by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

ITE IT8390 (IT8390E-256) programmer "ITE Download Board 4" user manual + firmware, flashing ITE ECs on the cheap
          by H34TO
Recently I've gotten into EC flashing due to my broken laptop(s) and started frantically searching methods for flashing the IT5571E-128 chip on the cheap(due to me beaing a student and not having a job) and noticed that ITE newer chips can be flashed via ISP (In-System Programming) either via SMBus or the KBC (EPP - Enhanced Parallel Port) interface. While these can be achieved with programmers like SVOD4/3 or the RT809H/F those options are WAYYY out of my budget so I was horrified. But recently I stumbled uppon some programmers on aliexpress that claim they can program a variety of ITE chips...

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
          by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
          • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
          • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
