    Samsung Ln40a650a1f image flicker/ghosting

Samsung LN40a650a1f, picked up off curb today.

Tv powered on great, good picture for about 10 minutes. Then whole screen starts ghosting through the images, and left half of screen starts to jump/flicker especially with any word images. Checked all boards for visual inspection, good there. Remove/clean/reseated lvds, ribbons on t-con board to no avail. Bad panel?

Tab bonds, very common on this model.

Update: I found 2- tab bonds that were loosing connection, I put some thermal compound pad I bought off ebay between the ribbons and the frame. Works great, tv has been working great for 24hrs now. No more flicker.

I have used those thermal pads too! they seem to work better than plain plastic or rubber. Had a sony I used for 2 years as a main TV and it was still working fine when I gave it to my son.

Someone just left it sitting on the curb? lol. Was this a pickup from Craigslist, or were you just lucky enough to be driving past and find it? Why can't I ever find those deals? Nice find!

Yep, found by someones trash can. I have found/purchased about 30 tv's off craigslist. Only problem now is people are figuring out that they are repairable, and they are getting harder to find. Good Luck!!

I've managed to pick up a few good finds so far, I made the unfortunate mistake of paying $20 for a 42" with a cracked screen, but I figure it will still be good for the boards. I've spent about $95 and picked up a 32" samsung that was covered under their capacitor settlement, a 42" maxent plasma, a Samsung LN40B650, and a Dell W2600. I also had someone give me a 42" Panasonic plasma, but unfortunately it has a cracked screen as well. I want to find some stuff just sitting on the curb though.. I must live in the wrong area
