Re: Panasonic TC-50PU54 8 blinks picture flashes then dead
Post a picture of your board. I dont know where those numbers come from. The two that go bad are on tbe end by the 2 big redish/ brown poly caps. They are the only things on the heatsink.

Re: Panasonic TC-50PU54 8 blinks picture flashes then dead
I have tested the continuity of this D16041, R16051, and Q16051 without issues, do I need to replace them? Second, is there a way to resolve the arching marks on the SS board holes? If so, what's the best way to do so?

Re: Panasonic TC-50PU54 8 blinks picture flashes then dead
They come with the resistor because it is a .005 cent part. Maybe sometimes it burns up but I never experienced it. Changing both IBGTs with subs is just what I do. Its like having a low profile tire on the drivers side, and a snow tire on the other. There might be a speed difference between the 2 that could cause a shutdown. Trial and error will a new thread.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic TC-50PU54 8 blinks picture flashes then dead
OK, thank you for the info.
But why do all the Repair Kits contain the resistor...?
Another question. When I sub with one of the mentioned parts....
Why to sub both? Because of the different values?Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic TC-50PU54 8 blinks picture flashes then dead
I have never found the resistors to go bad on this model. Just replace one DG302 or sub it with a gt30j124(if you sub, you should do both). Another substitute is FGPF4536. With the DG302 pulled from the board, check the diode next to it. Remember to touch up the solder top and bottom, of the screw holes.Leave a comment:

Hi All,
I will receive a TX-P50UT50E with the 8 Blink on Saturday.
Just to be prepared in ordering the replacement parts:
What is the size of the 5R6 resistor. (R16051: D0GF5R6JA047)
http://www.resistorguide.com/resisto...-and-packages/
Could I also use a 1Watt Rresistor instead of the 1/3Watt ?

Re: Panasonic TC-50PU54 8 blinks picture flashes then dead
just repaired TC-P50U50 set with bad Q051. make sure you tighten all the board screws in this set - I found 4 of them that were loose. Might be worth replacing all of them with lockwashers.Leave a comment:

This 8 blink issue where the tv turns on for a split second and then turns off IS the SS board with out a doubt.Leave a comment:

The seller gives suggestions on what you need to do after you get the repaired board back to complete the job properly,
Two options is to reuse those blts and put some loctite or threadlock on the threads or use the correct bolts which were in every Tv before 2011.

I would go with the new ones simply because if the solder lands compress at least the spring washer will expand but clean up all the scorch marks and check out the SC board too.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic TC-50PU54 8 blinks picture flashes then dead
OK I've pulled the SS board off and found that the top screw had scorch marks on it. Is it safe to assume that this board had grounding issues and is fried? I'm going to see the board off for repair, what screws should I get to prevent this from happening again?Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic TC-50PU54 8 blinks picture flashes then dead
If you want to just take a gamble then i'd go with the SS board as it's a known issue. Chances of it being A-board would be slim.
It's doubtful you'll find a board now or cheap but why not try this seller.
Sold over 270 repair jobs with 100% feedback and board is tested in a TV after repair. $44 for parts and labour + wty is giveaway prices. he does a lot of other boards too.
Maybe explain the situation and they could check out the board prior to repair in case it's ok and let you know but i think it will be blown and you should replace those bolts with something better or make sure they are tight on both the SC & SS boards.

Troubleshooting guide says SS or A board is the likeliest culprits. Any chance I could buy those online affordably and just replace both?Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic TC-50PU54 8 blinks picture flashes then dead
I've got a TC-P50UT50 about 3 years old that crapped out on me a few days ago. I know nothing about tv repair, never soldered anything in my life, don't own a volt meter. I would like to replace the correct board but not sure really how to go about doing it without being able to test anything. I could use some help please. I've attached a couple pictures. I unplugged the power wire on the left side of the picture and the blinks switched from 8 to 7…..does that mean that the left board is bad? If so, where can I get that board online? Is it as simple as unscrewing a fews screws to replace this board?
I really appreciate any help given, always loved the picture of this but can't afford to put hundreds of dollars in to fixing it.
Well, you are gonna have to buy/borrow at the very least a digital test-meter, that will read ohms, volts etc!

Yes, I replaced the driver, transistor, diode and resistor that comes as a kit but did not notice that the optocoupler was broken off. Thanks again.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic TC-50PU54 8 blinks picture flashes then dead
Sorry to intrude on an existing thread I'm not able to open a new thread for some reason. I have the tc-50pu50 with 8 blinks also and replaced the parts on the ss board to correct this and noticed that component PC251 broke off the board and is nowhere to be found, does anyone know what this component is? It is on the TNPA5623 ss board.
Broken off implies the pads are torn off too. could make it had to fix

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

by BiruslapioBought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.
Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner... -
by FZGHello!
I recently got an old VHS player from Panasonic and just for fun I want to try to repair this device. It is an AG-1000B portable VHS player from 1990 and it has a problem with picture quality in playback mode.
Picture in playback mode is very noisy and often loses sync but the still images are nearly perfect.
I want to know, is this something that could be solved by recapping or is the video head likely gone?
Also, what mechanism is this?
Any feedback is appreciated!...05-06-2024, 07:16 AM -
by Bazfletch3Hi all
While I have quite a decent background in electrical & electronic troubleshooting & repairs, this is my first time stripping down an LCD TV for repair.... I have inherited a 3yr old Panasonic LCD which has a picture, but it is quite dark (too dark to be watchable - but still quite easy to see; I didnt need a torch to see it).
I started by checking and trying to adjust all of the picture and backlighting levels, but that made little to no difference. I also did a factory reset.
From there I envisaged that the backlighting wasn't working, however... -
by kcaHello all ~
I’m working on this Samsung 60” LED and purchased a new main board a couple of days ago that did not fix the 5 blink issue. The original main board’s HDMI ports (all 4 of them) failed to work and no amount of reflow remedied that.
This 5 red light blink code on the front panel LED is followed (about 15-20 seconds afterward) by an automatic reboot, and results in 5 more red light blinks. Then the entire cycle repeats itself indefinitely.
No picture. No sound.
I tested all the voltages coming out of the power supply... - Loading...
