    Panasonic TH-42PZ80U has green line

I have a 42 inch Panasonic plasma TV that has a 30cm blue green line vertically down the center of the screen. The line will appear about 15 minutes after turning the TV on.
I have cleaned the two ribbon cables that correspond to the location of the green line, but no luck. I cleaned them with isopropyl alcohol, and a compressed air duster. Is there a better way to clean, or is the plasma screen shot.
I have attached pics of the green line, and of the ribbon cable I cleaned.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Jeff

This is a common issue on these TVs -- on your picture the connectors at the top. Warning -- power MUST be off when changing this connector!

              Tom66,

I disconnected and cleaned 2 of the ribbon connectors at the top of the pic. Are you talking about the other connectors to the circuit boards?

One of the "C" boards that runs along the bottom of the panel is most likely your issue. The ribbon connector needs to be re-seated and possibly cleaned. You'll have to do some minor surgery to get to the connector in the location where you're seeing the vertical stripe, as the main board with the audio/video inputs is in the way.

You'll have to unscrew the heatsink too. Remember to secure it after reseating it!

I have the same issue but with a yellow stripe....so just take everything apart, clean and re seat everything?

so just take the back panel off and start cleaning and reconnecting?

Yes. Power OFF (unplugged) during any connector change.

Sorry but that may be a panel failure. Bad ribbon IC. I have just run into two more of these same issue. Tried everything.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Along the bottom horizontal edge of the panel. This picture shows one removed.
