The picture went out and a guy for them checked out the tv and the said the Main Board went out. Is there anyway to fix it and if so how much would it cost!

In a dark room, can you see a glow from the screen, or is it completely black?

You have a digital camera? A digital multimeter / voltmeter?

Unfortunately no, only have a iPhone for pics.

Depends what iPhone, but should be acceptable if decent resolution and lighting capable.

But you will need to get a multimeter if you want to diagnose the fault. You can buy one for under $10 from many places.

I never assume that a tech has properly diagnosed an issue. I had one TV, where I knew what was wrong with the model based on past experience, and the tech's estimate for the original owner was WAY wrong.

In addition techs like to simplify things for customers, a "main board" can mean a power board, main (video) board or T-con board...
