I want to say that whoever created this website/forum are geniuses. I have gained knowledge and a better understanding of the new model tv's. This site has helped me alot, AND I mean alot.
THANK YOU BADCAP!
My dad's Vizio GV47LFHDTV had a black screen issue. The lights along the bottom were lit (amber color) and they were non responsive whether by tv or the remote, either way It could not be turned off.
I did some research and found other people had the same issue.
Long story short the problem was the mainboard and that problem is VOLTAGE REGULATORS.
I order 2 from ebay, swapped them out and voila, the tv is back on. This problem may have a been addressed already but I wanted to share my experience and contribute to the site.
I included a picture showing the location of the regulators. There are YouTube links that helped me out with testing and soldering.
Thank you Badcap and contributors. You all have helped me and keep up the good work.
