    Polaroid TLU-03723b SMD identification

    Hi
    This is the second one in a couple of weeks I have had of this model and they suffer bad solder joints, not this ime someone has been playing and think its wise to solder across 2 x resistors and 1 x capacitor.

    The TV is dead and before I go rushing in I need to find out and fit the correct resistors and capacitor, with no service manual for the tv or schematics for the psu I am struggling.

    What would you do, how do I find the correct values with no info to go off nor no one selling the psu to ask

    The PSU is PWB1038

    I have attached a picture circling the missing components

      Sorted..nothing wrong with a bit of guess work, put 2 1004's in and pulled a capacitor from another psu and it is now working...well I say fine, now the tv is working it has got a lovely green 1mm line down the left of the screen..grrr

          Is this screen or possible lvds/tcon

          The line is green under normal viewing

              LCD panel fault, though could be a trapped hair or other bit of dust -- hard to see?

                  Yep, changed the lvds, tcon, cleaned the flat cables and checked for tab bonding and it is still the same

                  Can I just add with this model if anyone is searching I have had a couple of these shutting down where cold joints are to blame namely around M200

                  Also REMOVE the gunk they put around the fet legs....it is best to remove the fets and clean them as the gunk goes rock solid and is a pain to remove in situ

                  why would they put that crap around the fet legs..beyond me

                      Hey everyone,

                      I'm currently working on a mid-70s Sharp Electronic Digital Clock Radio, Model FY-70CH. I found the service manual online, printed it out, and have been studying it for a while. My main reasons for tackling this are: (1) I want to learn electronics and figured I'd start with something I had on hand, and (2) I want to fix its issues. Right now, the radio sounds awful, has about 5V DC at the speaker terminals, and the alarm time setting doesn't work. But I'm not asking how to fix these problems.

                      Instead, here's what's been bugging me so far:

                      Hot Air Blew Away Resistors Near Bios

                      Hi All - I'm in the midst or reprogramming the bios on my gen1 Surface Laptop Studio and I accidentally blew away 2 resistors nearby the bios. I don't have another board to measure values of the missing resistors and schematics aren't available, bbut the bios is a 6x5mm Winbond WSON8, W25R256JWPQ model. The traces are conductive to Pins 3 and 7 (IO2 & IO3 respectively) so I have reason to believe they are 10k pull up resistors since IO2&3 pins are used for Quad SPI instructions.

                      Does anyone with more knowledge, and experience than I, know if this is the case?

                      Hi Folks
                      This has to do with a LED light driver rated for Output - DC36-65V 300mA. This is used to drive a 15W LED panel light.

                      Now this does not work so opened up and found 2 resistors burnt to crisp. Sensing a learning moment, i looked around the circuit to figure out that it is built around the OB2538 chip. The circuit to a large extent follows the sample application circuit mentioned in the data sheet. I have traced the actual circuit and the same is also attached for reference.

                      But i have some queries on this circuit
                      1. The resistors that burnt to crisp...

                      I am trying to determine why these two resistors are the colors that they are. This is a Pioneer amp. The ones I am concerned about are the RED & GREEN colored resistors. I need to replace them and want to be sure to use the properly rated component....

                      My beloved 2007WFP just died on me. It has a green blinking light that just cycles through various display numbers. For a while I noticed it would blink slightly like the refresh rate was off. Nothing I have done has been successful in turning it on. So I took it apart and looked at the USB board since many people have had problems with the resistors under the silicon blob. I looked at the various other boards for the obvious signs such as blown caps, bad fuses, burn marks etc. Nothing looked obvious. I also checked most of the caps with an ESR meter and they checked out good.
