    Westinghouse EW50T5KW (Power Supply SMD's)

Got this from a friend. said he heard a "POP" then no pic. Took it to local repair shop that said $250 to fix it and proceeded to break a wire on the PS board. (I can fix)

*** Not Powering Up Anymore AT ALL AFTER "POP!"***

I have never replaced a SMD but I have done caps but am nervous about the small SMD's.

    1. Are these 220 Ohm and 103 Ohm SMDs? Looks like I need a few of each kind.
    2. Am I missing anything?

    thanks guys!

        220 is 22 Ohms
        102 is 1000 Ohms

You can get them from DIGIKEY, just measure the physical size to match the foot print.
Those resistors and the Diode in that signal path are for MOSFET gate drive circuit, it means that the MOSFET had Drain to Gate shorted out so it dumps about 400VDC to the Gate drive circuits which will damage lots of parts in that area, Q100, Q101, Q105, U101, D110, the MOSFET.

Re: Westinghouse EW50T5KW (Power Supply SMD's)

Should I attempt to replace the ones that look physically bad? Or just go with a whole new power supply? I could have hours testing a replacing...

Unfortunately a new power supply is $90 at Shop Jimmy TV. No other vendor has them that I am able to locate with Google searches.

          Thoughts?

You should at least test the MOSFET to see if it is shorted out, if it is, then you have more than just damaged resistors and more parts and troubleshooting required.

Looks like the 6 pin IC is also bad.

yea. I think after seeing that IC is bad also to just swap out the whole PS. any ideas on where to snag one cheaper than $90?

Check local Craigslist/other sites for a smashed EW50T5KW or other models ShopJimmy say are compatible. Most people will be happy to have you take them away or take $5 or $10 for them.
