    Toshiba 32bv50 Flashing LED

    Hi

Got this TV and the PSU 17pw25-4 had been through a power surge and basicallydestroyed the board (It blew the tracks from the board)

Replaced the PSU with a 17pw25-3 It has exactly the same pin out as the 4 and cheaper

Connected it up and the tv was dead, the psu voltages were right, so I put it down to the 17mb60 4.1, my mate had a smashed screen with the same board in fitted it and now the front led is flashing and the voltages have gone a bit odd

    ie
    The 24v rail = 25.8v
    The 12v rail = 11v

I seem to be getting 8v readings across a couple of the voltage regulators, never seen 8 volts on vestels before...is this normal

    Any help appreciated

Quite surprised to see a UK TV damaged by a power surge, very rare.

    Crappy pretend Toshiba...

Front LED flashing could be problem with touch panel buttons, main board or power board... Some newer T-cons have EEPROMs on them for model number, did you match that up? 25.8V is very high for 24V. Try putting a load on it and seeing if it drops.

The Electricity ran out apparantly when the tv was on then wouldnt come back on...to be honest it did make a mess of the underside of the board and a nice burn mark on the back of the screen

SOrry my mistake if I disconnect the main from the psu it is still showing 25.8v and if I put the 10ohm 11watt resistor in it seems to lose all voltage

I am sure I have had one of these before with same symptoms and it was one of the many diodes on the psu but they all seem to be ok
And guess what I bought the psu off ebay grrrrrr

Just replaced d938 and it booted straight up, must be breaking down under load as it tests ok out of board with dmm

Ugh, does ANYONE check the boards they sell on eBay? People like that make the recycled boards trade look like a bunch of idiots...

Changed my mind tom, I have just built the tv back up gone to turn it on and now the front led is bright then within 5 seconds it dims down to nothing and dead again

I am getting sick of ebay at the minute, thought things came in 3's this is about the 5th dodgey part in as many weeks

I take that back it must of just been luck, the psu is fine, put it in a working tv and its fine, so there is something on the main that is causing the fault, at least I have had it working once so there is hope yet

                Fixed:- 17MB60 4.1

Replaced the 22 x 16v SMD Cap Board Position C1031, it is positioned right next to the card reader

Good to know, interesting to hear they caused the fault. Perhaps they were the problem before and got worse and worse before power surge got it.

If I am being totally honest a friend looked on a Database and the 17MB60-3 (the only difference is the LVDS position) had the same fault where a diode showed a short to ground and it was the cap at fault...Happy Days

It was a right tricky little bleeder to get out as its right next to some seriously small smd's on a delicate little vestel that will lift tracks if you sneeze :o)

Did you establish whether 8v was normal or not?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

                        by H34TO
Recently I've gotten into EC flashing due to my broken laptop(s) and started frantically searching methods for flashing the IT5571E-128 chip on the cheap(due to me beaing a student and not having a job) and noticed that ITE newer chips can be flashed via ISP (In-System Programming) either via SMBus or the KBC (EPP - Enhanced Parallel Port) interface. While these can be achieved with programmers like SVOD4/3 or the RT809H/F those options are WAYYY out of my budget so I was horrified. But recently I stumbled uppon some programmers on aliexpress that claim they can program a variety of ITE chips...
