Upper Y buffer would be my guess.

Re: LG 50PG20-UA HD Plasma issue...

There is no way the panel could cause this in my opinion. Repairing buffer boards is possible, but may not be worth it depending on the price and your ability. The buffer chips require good soldering skills to replace. If you're up to replacing a 128 pin chip with 0.5mm between pins, you may be able to do it. Otherwise, swap the board.

Alright thanks, I'm not that good at soldering lol I would cause more damage to it then I would fix it lol
          that board says,
          EBR50039007
          YDRVTP
          HS500891031
are there any other boards with different numbers that are compatible?
          thanks for your help

Looks to be around $63, new:
            http://www.partstore.com/Model/LG+El...R50039007.aspx

Not bad really, used prices are around $50~60 but all seem out of stock.

They may be. To be sure, you will need to see if all dimensions and connectors are the same, and that it is used in the same plasma panel (not TV model, the plasma glass itself, which has a sticker on the metal plate e.g. LG Electronics PDP50G8#####)

                    Here's my panel details:
                    It's a Mexico model,
                    the sticker says:

You need to check if those boards came from a PDP50G1 panel but they'll probably work.

Thanks for the help, I just tried turning my tv on today, the back has been off it for months, now i get sound but no picture (i haven't changed the y buffer board yet) i noticed the back of it is fairly dusty and the power supply makes a hum when on. i think i have a bigger issue? i should also add i removed the heatsinks from the top y buffer board and the glue around the chips on the top y buffer board
                            thanks

Yeah, the glue around the buffer chips is vital (high voltage insulation), the buffer is probably fried now... hope the Y-sus is still OK.
                              Try with top buffer unplugged.

with the top buffer removed i get picture on the bottom half only its distortedi'm assuming thats because to work properly it needs both buffers?

Yes that indicates your Y-sus is OK and your bottom buffer is most likely OK. Both buffers are required for a good image.

I have the same LG 50PG20 -ua, I'm having power issues. I have standby(red), when I try to power set on, It goes from red to 2flashes blue, then steady blue. I have no pic or sound, but I have not tried an external source for sound, didn't think it would work if tv doesn't power up, anybody have any suggestions. checked all the voltages, all seem good. Any help would be appreciated, thanks George

                                        Hi all,

I'm interested in understanding how a buffer board chip is working. I know there's about 90 outputs per chip to the plasma panel, but I'm more interested to know about the input pins. I guess that some of them are address pins, but I want to know more.

So far I've found nothing at all. I haven't found any datasheet about the various buffer chips, and I haven't found any schematic for the buffer board using them (Y Buffer Board in Samsung's terminology).

Any information will make me happy. It can be from any buffer chip or plasma TV manufacturer....

I have a vintage 2008 Samsung 50” Plasma TV, Model code PN50A550S1FXZA with a power supply part number BN44-00222A. I repaired the power supply board several years ago finding a couple of cold solder joints on the back side of the board and it's worked great up until now. Recently a fried sound occurred with the smell of burnt electronics and the TV shut down. Trying to turn it back on yielded the typical relay clicking with no TV boot up. Upon investigation, removing feeds to the other boards within the TV it was found that disconnecting the logic board from the power supply allowed the...

                                        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                                        Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

                                        🛠 Original Issue
                                        The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

⚠️ New Problem: One USB-C Port Only Works in One Orientation...
