Found this TV for sale and I'm wondering what could be? Panel or mainboard?

Very odd problem.

I'm going to cautiously say T-con, but I wouldn't entirely rule out the panel.

Pixels are orientated R|G|B|R|G|B... in LCD panel. So for only red to be affected is strange -- every third column would have to be stuck on. But I have still seen LCD panel defects which have only affected certain colours on certain portions of the display; though none yet that affect the whole panel.

If it's cheap I'd take a shot because the main board is a common fault on this model, you can probably make your money back from selling that, and the main board does appear to be good.
