Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
The power supply produces the voltages, which come up at those outputs.
Do you hear a relay click when you press the power button?

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
Do you think it will be a power supply replacement or do you think it may be repairable ?? I cant see any indication of badcaps though??Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
OK So the output voltages i presume go from the power supply to the main board then back to the power supply on the 19v gnd pins connector ??
But there is a possibility like you said that the power supply board is waiting for a voltage at vs ON before turning the output voltages to the main board ??
The main board does have a red led light on it ???Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
I am not sure if your power supply or main board is bad now. RL ON should cause the output voltages to come up, but you are not seeing them rise? On the other hand, the power supply might be waiting for VS ON before turning on the outputs fully.Leave a comment:

yes i did these checks before ?? and the same readings ??Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
Did you note that with your old board? Because that indicates power supply not working? Did I miss something?

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
When you press the power button, or turn the TV on using the remote, do RL ON, VS ON or anything else change?Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
yes they are all low except STBY 5V and AC ON
AC ON = 4.338v
RL ON = 0,0037v
STBY 5V = 4.97v
Vs ON = 0.038v
5V MONI= 0v
19v = 000.8mv
19v = 1.3mv
6V = 0.1v
3.4v = 0.464v
Do you need me to take any other measurements ? thanksLeave a comment:

DC. Do you see any other voltages that are measuring low?Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
I measured 19v and GND and it only measures 0.008 mV DC Should i measure in DC or AC ?

Voltage measurements on the power supply or main board ??

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
Make measurements of the power supply connector, and do not rule out the chance that the board you received was defective...Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
I have only just got the part !!! It was a nightmare to get hold of this part, I eventually got one shipped from Holland !
Anyway I swapped the board over and the problem is exactly the same !!!
Can anyone please help ????Leave a comment:

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
Hi Tom
i have another question ???
When you say the only difference between 42" and 50" is the software ..... is it easy to install the 50" software to the board ?? If so how is this done .... I am presuming it is from the RS232 port on the board ??
thanks again steLeave a comment:

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
Hi Tom
I am still stuck with the LG TV !!!!
I have still not been able to find the part
However Do you think it is possible to use the AV board from a LG50PX4D
They are the same except the Audio Outs are on different sides ??
I thought i could also use the back cover of the LG50PX4D so then the holes would match up on the back ??
What do you think ?
thanks steLeave a comment:

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
It looks like it is back to the drawing board !!!
The shop in Italy selling the part i thought i needed has replied back and told me it is for a 42"
It looks like the 50" main board i need is going to be hard to find !!
thanks again Tom for all your help ... wish me luck !!

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
mmmm ok !! So there are also boards with 4 smd capaacitors and the connector for the 42" also ??
mm i didnt realise how difficult it would be in getting parts ??
Do you think i should get this board ??
thanksLeave a comment:

Re: LG 50PX4R-ZB stuck in standby mode
There may be differences between those boards due to production changes, which has nothing at all to do with 50"/42".Leave a comment:

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by duwaneHi All.
I have an 820-02016 board (A2337 M1) that has come in for data recovery. Reported as liquid damage, but no visible evidence of any liquid damage.
Board was initially stuck at 5v, and current only spiking occasionally to around 400mA and cycling.
After initial troubleshooting, found that C7800 (which feeds the power rail PP5V_BSTLQ_VOUT_SPMU) was dead short to ground.
Replaced C7800 and short gone. Board still stuck at 5v. Current draw behaviour changed. It now spikes up for a second to around 100mA to 130mA, then drops down to... -
by AleMontiHi everyone,
I'm trying to troubleshoot and repair this old LG OLED curved TV, model 55EG910V.
I did some basic troubleshooting and reviewed most related posts here, but I wasn't able to isolate the issue.
The TV shut itself off during playback and never came back to life - the standby light remains off. My dad claims that it has happened a few times in the past but the issue resolved itself after some time. Not this one.
After checking the basics I did the following:- I measured all voltages and as expected the only active supply is the 3.5V standby. It

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.
Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today.... - Loading...
