Hi Tom,

I have dismantled the bexel, the lcd unit and removed the white plastic sheet over the bulbs, now with the PSU and main board still attached and the TCON attached but no connection from the TCON to the LCD panel I switched the set on and ALL the bulbs illuminate for a second of two and then switch off.

Does that mean the bulbs are OK? could it be a transformer fault?

Sounds like a transformer or inverter fault, usually with a bad transformer you would see some dimmer bulbs though so you may have something more common like that low 12V line previously mentioned.

OK, well it was a good experience dismantling the TV completely, so how should I test the transformers/inverters? Or is it time to just replace the PSU/Inverter?

I would give replacing the PSU board a go, but try to get a returns policy just in case.

Hi Tom,

The PSU/Inverter arrived and was fitted today and touch wood it has been running for a good hour or so and have sound and picture.

Thank you so much for your help, is there anyone that buys the PSU/Inverter faulty?

Some might but you'd probably only get scrap copper cost for it. A few quid...

Hi AndyD1970 I am having the exact same issue and i want to change the inverter, how did you get to the inverter and how did you change it? all help would be appreciated!
