coax cable connected to 2 flat screens

Im having an issue with my tvs

I connected a 3 way splitter to 2 of my flat screens

My 60 gets a signal but my 40 does not

Is the 60 inch taking the signal from the 40?

    What is the problem

The 3 way splitter loses 7db on 2 legs and 3.5db on one leg. Then you have the loss due to distance.

But Im sure that's not the issue. The homemade coax connections you have in the picture, and the fact that you should be just using a 2 way splitter is more than likely the issue.

I am a cable tech, so just looking at those connections make me cringe And the Radio Shack type gold splitter. \

You need a good quality prepped and compression fitting on the ends of the coax with a good quality splitter to get good results. It may be cheaper to haver your tv provider do this then buy all the tools..

Make sure there is not metal braid wrapped around center conductor of your coax connections if nothing else...

      Thanks for the info

I have the crimping tool but I used the cheao screw on type fittings to get it done quick

I did make sure there was no metal braiding touching the copper conductor

What is the Bandwidth of that splitter? What is printed on the body may mean nothing too since it may be just cheap Chinese made. You should get the Active signal spiltter instead.

the screw on type are great for cutting the grounds right off! compression the only way to get a good connection!

            5-900mhz on the splittet

I also have a line amplifier
            Do those work?

            Line amplifier
            In 950-2050mhz
            Gain:13-18db

            Max. Output
            950-2050mhz :110dBuV

What is the proper way to crimp a fitting to the coax cable?

Is the shielding supposed to touch the fitting or does the insulation touch the fitting and the copper conductor stick out enough to enter the splitter or tv?

The cable should also be RG6.

                        fixing flat two tv screens
                        by rookiecap
I am trying to fix two flat tv screens. They have problems that I am not familiar how to deal with and if they are fixable at all.

                        1) the first TV is RCA 32: LCD combo tv+dvd, model RLCDV3282A-B. It was distorting images in sync with sounds. The sounds were distorted too. Then it was shutting down automatically. I replaced all visible electrolytic capacitors on power supply board. After repair, the image and sound are restored but tv still shuts downs unexpectedly usually after couple of minutes. I do not know what to do next. What might be the culprit and how to trace/inspect...

Issues with new Surface Pro 5 screens

I have three Microsoft Surface Pro 5 model 1796, with all cracked screens.
Have bought from Aliexpress three new screens, the part numbers from my and the seller are the same:

Bad working China screen part number:

Good working own screen part number

Error I get with the bad working China screen:

No error with the good working own screen:

All the three China screens (all the same exact part numbers) produce the same error in Device manager. Have also performed a clean installation...

Acer Predator Helios 300 - will not power up if battery is CONNECTED
                        by survivalbloke
This was a no power initially. Thanks to your help, I discovered it was the first mosfet, so I replaced. Now, the device will power up only if the battery is NOT connected. As soon as I connect the battery, it shuts off. If I connected the battery while the device is off, it simply will not respond to the power button. I replaced the battery, and while I suppose the new battery could be faulty, I'm assuming it is not. I'm having the same behavior with the new battery. I measure .2v at the charging coil. Manually applying power to the + and - at the battery header, there is no charging happening....

                        by howardc64
Fixed a 9 year old UN55JU650 by replacing backlight. Original backlight LED was still working after 27k! hours but terrible picture of course. Few LEDs were out, 5-6 lens fell off (bright white spots) and another few popped off with slightest force. Surviving LEDs were all slightly blue so picture has a blue tint.

This TV runs older Tizen OS (updated to latest version, see pic) and have problems with network (wifi or ethernet) connection. The Tizen UI frequently switch to coax input source while changing content sources. . If no good signal (coax not connected, no prior antenna/cable...

820-2915-A Wont power on with battery connected
                        by beogeek
Ok so this doing my head in and hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be able to assist.

I've got a MacBook Pro 820-2915-A it will power on without the battery connected, but when the battery is connected it will do a 2,3-second fan spin when pressing the power button and then nothing.

After measuring and probing around I found that R7051 was bad, reading high instead of 2.2Ω so I replaced it. Still the same issue, I have the green light on the charger but it won't power on or charge the battery.

So to cut the long story short I've replaced U7000,...
