DMTech LU20XT TV/DVD couple of faults

Tv appears to function correctly in all aspects ATV, DVD player, Menu etc.. and on all accounts has quite a decent picture, so works except for the following:

Firstly, the keypad not functioning 100% correctly. Volume up and down works fine all the time but the DVD eject button does not work instead the Stop button open and closes the DVD tray. And the Menu button does not work, instead Menu is accessed by the Program Up button.

Secondly, although the analog tuner (ATV) will attempt to tune in, of course analog no longer exists but at least the function works however when DTV is selected the Settings option is greened out in the Menu options so it is not possible to tune in digital channels.
It says 'DTV Booting. Please wait' when switching on the Tv when DTV is selected, then displays DTV top right hand corner but the screen then just goes blank (black).
I have accessed the Service Menu and done a reset via the 'Reset' option which does put user settings back to default and selected the 'Eeeprom' option but it does not go back to first setup on re-power as would be expected so that I can select language, date/time, tune ATV and DTV channels etc..
Theres also an option in the Service Menu 'DVBT' which is selected to 'ON', this I would of thought could be toggled on and off but NO.
Also I can not access the DTV W.Bal option but can select PC W.Bal and make adjustments, nor can I access the Control option whatever thats for!
    Any thoughts?

I have a gut feeling its the Eeeprom but would be grateful for any ideas to go forwards with this one.

Details relevant to this particular make and model.

Service Menu accessed via remote, I don't have the original so using a universal remote and it works for the basic functions needed i.e volume, channel mute

    On this remote I pressed
    1-/11 also labelled 11
    1
    1
    2-/12 also labelled 12
This then displays the Service Menu with just a few options.
    Reset
    Eeprom
    Text
    Language
    Country
    Hotel Mode
    Heatrun
    DTV W.bal
    PC W.bal
    Bus Stop
    Control
    DVBT
    Panel LG20. SDB1
    Tuner SSPG40B

Another detail is that this model does not have its own internal PS b/d but in fact runs from a 12V DC power pack which is a nice feature as the TV can be run direct from a 12v car battery, handy for camping etc. The only downside is the unique design of the dc jack connection, its a round 4 pin connector so you have to buy from select retailers at a high price however I chose to solder on a 2 core wire direct to the Main A/V board with a standard dc jack 2.1mm or something and can use either a standard car cigarette lighter lead with a dc jack on the other end or in doors use any 240v to 12v 5a power blocks.

Is it possible that there is another Service Menu? Extended SM?

I suspect either the fault lies within the Firmware Eeprom (H/W or S/W corrupt) or the Digital tuner board is faulty.

          Hi

Did you ever get your problems with the DMtech solved? I have an LQ20X TV/DVD, so although not exactly the same model I do have similar problems, i.e. the Stop button open and closes the DVD tray; Menu is accessed by the Program Up button; when DTV is selected the Settings option is greened out in the Menu options so it is not possible to tune in digital channels; It says 'DTV Booting. Please wait' when switching on the Tv when DTV is selected, then displays DTV top right hand corner but the screen then just goes blank (black).

Initially my set wasn't working at all, but then I found 2 blown capacitors in the separate power supply. £1.18 later and it burst into life - result! or so I thought. It's DVD player won't read discs even after I've cleaned the laser 'eye', and I've got all the problems you had PLUS I haven't got a remote control or user manual. (I'm using the buttons on the right of the set)

I know many folk would have ditched it by now, but now I've got life back into it I'd love to see it fully operational. You know the feeling.

Thanks in advance for any help.

          Keith
