    LG 47LV5400 No Image

I got this LG Tvs not working properly.

I did many test. When everything is hooked up, I got no image, only some lines on the right side of the tv.

If I disconnect the right side of the T-CON board, I get half screen working perfectly. With both side connected, only lines on the right side and no image at all (sound ,backlight and everything is working).

I replaced the T-Con with 2 different one, same problem, I replaced the Main board, same problem. Only thing left is the Power supply (seems ok), panel or??

    Please help!!! Thank you

You may be lucky and it is just a shorted SMD cap on one side but I am willing to bet that there is a fault with one of the tab drivers.

Can you explain me a little bit more how can I test a SMD cap?

Along the side of the screen are thin boards where the 2 ribbon cables from the tcon connect (often you have to disassemble a lot to get to these boards). There are not many parts on these boards, many tab bonds, and a driver (IC chip) every few inches. The SMD caps are small beige cubes, you can test them with the ohm (resistance setting) by connecting your leads to each side, and the resistance should increase very quickly from 0 to out of range oL or something like that. You can also test them with the capacitance setting on your multimeter if you have that setting.
Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
              by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

              hi
              having problem with samsung ua55es6800

tv had backlight on, sound working - responds to the remote control but no image.

check tcon board - had 12v in but no other voltages present.
when disconnected left ribbon cable - got back voltages and half image with lines and distorsion

when leaving only left side connected - again no voltages and no image.

put a tape on all (cd?! lines) on the left ribbon cable and got complete but distorted image (horizontal lines).

kept trying to block less pins on the left ribbon cable...

Strange LG TV issue : Image vertical lines in black screen
              by Ancient1
              Hi

              Asking for a friend.

I'm used to black vertical line in otherwise good image - probable solution is a rubber to push and tighten the COFs bonding.
but here its the opposite !

TV has new T-con = same issue
A missing panel voltage would have global effect

So , what should one do ? how can I find where the fault is ?

              Thanks !...
