Toshiba 42zv650u lines on left side after a few minutes

-HAHA! Yes this is the tv I just replaced the panel on with a used one from ebay. Everything went well at first. I had full picture for 3-5 minutes, then I saw pic 1. After turning it off and back on I saw pic 2.

-I blew cool air on tcon and buffer as best I could. Reseated connections to tcon and buffer. Let it sit for 45min. to cool down more. When I turned it on I had the same results as above.

-Third pic shows ribbon cables. left one going into buffer has a bad connection or short when I press on it.

I'm thinking tab bonds. I'm guessing you got a dud panel.

yep. if I push on it I may lose some color or get lines like in pics above. If I pull on it a little the pic comes back.
I will have to go get something to secure tabs better.

Was it local? Or do you have to ship it back...? Personally, I would not make a tab bond repair to a "new" panel, not guaranteed to be reliable.

came from Ohio, used. I would have to ship it back. It was $50 plus $60s/h

What can I get from a local store that will work ok for tab bond repair?

Couldn't find anything at the store I thought would work.
On another post bud said he used:
            http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...R165-ND/307787

But he wanted to try this:
            http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trks...at=0&_from=R40
The description sounds like it may be too soft.

Maybe bud can reply if he tried the stuff from ebay yet or would recomend it from its description.

I got the thickest one from DealExtreme to try out but it was way too soft almost like playdough, I could not use it.

l should be getting this Monday
                http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...R165-ND/307787

                How should I place pad?
Is it best to place it under tab on plastic frame?

Re: Toshiba 42zv650u lines on left side after a few minutes

When you get the bezel off, check to see if you can swap the ribbons running from the panel to the T-Con. Maybe one of the ribbons is bad or not seated in the buffer correctly. I've seen sets where they snapped into the buffers and the t-con and I've seen sets where they were permanently attached to the buffers and only snapped into the t-con. If the lines move to the other side of the panel, you'll know it's the ribbon.

As for the tab bond repair, you may need to experiment with it to get it to work. If pulling on the ribbon produces a good picture, I would start with putting the pad on the frame
