Samsung LN52A- Vertical lines- Not T-Con

    Sup fellas/ladies been a while.

I have a Samsung LN52A550p3f with vertical colored lines in one section. Replaced the T-Con board. No Dice. Re-seated and switched the flat cables to see if if was one of them, no dice. So its the panel right? Anything that can be done? I've read that one of the little caps or resistors integrated into the board that attached to the panel could be the problem and wiring around them could solve the issue.

So here are a few pics. I completely disassembled , have the panel out on chairs as you can see. I have a multimeter but im not much of an electrician. I was attempting to get readings across resistors but not even sure if I was doing it correctly.

    Thanks in advance!

This is almost certainly a bad LCD panel.

Probably not. I expect the IC on the tab bond has failed, which would not be repairable.

If you are touching the ribbon cables at the top of the panel and the lines are changing, then probably can use bud's method, but it's very hard to make them all disappear and to stay that whey, while you are putting it together. There are no guaranties that it will last.

The inputs, at the driver board, are usually uncorrelated to pixels. Just overall data for the block of pixels that IC drives. So any pressure there is actually pressure on the IC itself making the problem go away, possibly like BGA-bonding problems with Xbox 360 / PS3.

I beat my brains out trying to fix a 46 like this and eventually figured out it was a bad lcd panel. I could never change the picture pressing on the tabs anywhere. Mine would come on and heat up and get worse and worse.

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
                by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...

                Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Hi guys…I need your help. My cousin ask me to fix her tv. The tv when I went to pick up showed 3 horizontal black line. So I know it was a bad panel issue but I could try to fix with the tape method so I said her I could fix easy. When I come back to home, I turned on the tv and now the tv show vertical line colored….and the problem is that I unplug the ldvs cable, first the right side then the left side I still have the lines. The lines never disappear. When the right side is plug in I don’t have nothing on the screen only this vertical lines, when the right side is unplugged I have picture...

Thin stable coloured vertical lines on Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC come and go
                by polaro
                Greetings,

I've bought a used Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC LED TV. It worked fine for some time and then developed, at first, a single very thin (1 pixel) vertical stable blue line, from top to bottom, close to the left edge of the screen. Now it's 3 lines on the left. When I connect HDMI sources the number of the thin lines grow. After disconnecting and cold discharging I am back to 2 lines. The lines disappear at a rate of 15-20 minutes per line. So it does not look like a damaged LED panel. Any advice? Thanks...
