toshiba 40rv5257 lcd bad pic at power up

This lcd was given to me and the problem it has is the picture looks psychedelic for the first 8 minutes or so after start up. After that the picture seems to look fine. I read the lcd trouble shooting guide and and seems like it might be a bad tcon board. Any confirmation would be great. What i don't understand is why the picture looks good after the elapsed time. Can anyone explain this? Ill post before and after pictures shortly

Likely something is warming up and starts working proper after it has reached a higher temperature.

So, you should take a hairdryer to the boards of the TV (covers off) and try heating up each and seeing if the problem gets better.

My guess would be main board over T-con.
