Updated pics wirh voltage readings. I had my leads on the wrong settings.

Hello all. Its been a while since ive been on here and im back with another problem on my pops tv.
No image or sound. Power light comes on. You can hear the relay in th PSB click on and off a few times then goes to power & opc blinking. Power light blinks 3x opc blinks 2x. Service manual says its a 5v voltage detect error on pin 33.
I can get any voltage readings on the psb so not usre where to start.
Ive tried the vol/ch and plugging in thing but cant force it to turn on. I see no faint image on screen either. After researching a bit im thinking... -
Samsung pn64e533d2f no pic sound ok
Picked up this tv from someone that didnt want it because it had stopped turning on. Only history I know is that it started failing over time. It would turn on at times and run fine but would have to hit the power button multiple times before the picture came on. Then one day it never came on but still had sound.
I opened it up and checked for bad caps and found none. Did the flashlight test and there seems to be no image. then started checking voltages and noticed that VS and VA drop shortly after start up. I disconnected the y and z boards and the same thing happens. What could... -

checked the fets as you said and posted a picture of where I have continuity. The red indicated where the continuity was. Some were only on two points others on all three. The resistors on the right where checked for continuity also and the first one did not make a sound. The other two did.
Not much of a electronic intelectual but I can check voltages, resistance, etc. Let me know what you think....Leave a comment:

LG 60PV400 display problems
Background on the set: Picked this set up from someone who was going to throw it away because it stopped working. Took it apart and checked PS for proper voltage and it checks out ok. It had no picture but had sound. After reading a few threads on here I reflowed the inductors on both Y and Z boards and now I have picture ONLY when the Z board is disconnected. The picture looks dim and somewhat fuzzy and has black blotches on the screen that slowly fade as the screen warms up. If I plug in the Z board then the tv will try to power on but shut down. Debating on sending the buffer boards to the Ebay seller. Just concerned that if they get replaced and i have a bad display then I'm SOL. Any way to check the display before spending some $ on this thing?Leave a comment:

toshiba 40rv5257 lcd bad pic at power up
This lcd was given to me and the problem it has is the picture looks psychedelic for the first 8 minutes or so after start up. After that the picture seems to look fine. I read the lcd trouble shooting guide and and seems like it might be a bad tcon board. Any confirmation would be great. What i don't understand is why the picture looks good after the elapsed time. Can anyone explain this? Ill post before and after pictures shortly -

Cheked these as instructed and all test above 1when set at 200
On diode setting 5500 is the only one without a short.
Also found short on d5001 and d5003 if that means anything
Anything else i can check on this board?

Tested the top y buffer according to the buffer test video and found shorts on the first two chips on the y buffer (top). Lower tested fineLeave a comment:

I have not. Need to buy a meter with an audible setting.
When i had the power supply changed under warranty the service tech told my wife that the main board was bad but that he want sure. I've been reading through the board and read that someone fixed theirs by replacing the main logic. What I'm struggling with is why the panel won't prime or glow. Does the panel get its power from the main logic or the y main?Leave a comment:

Here are some pics i took of the back side with the voltaged Im getting on several spots of each board. I have the correct voltages that are listed on the label but can seem to figure out why I still have no pic. Is there a spot I can check voltage on the y buffers? in the first pic there is a black connector that connects the y main to the top y buffer. Can I check for power off of one of those pins?...Leave a comment:

Did the test for dim lighted screen in a dark room test didnt see a thing. Havent had much time to work on it. Picked up another lcd for free and it works. Got to getback to fixing this one.Leave a comment:
