Just pick this 50in lg plasma, model 50pk540. Top half of the screen has distorted color and nothing on the bottom. I replaced y-main and top/bottom y buffer board. Has sound, picture is distorted like the pic. When x board unplugged, have sound, have distorted pic as in the picture. When y board, unplugged, have sound, picture is blank. Any suggestion?

Can anyone help me out here? I replaced both the X and Y main and buffer, still have sound, but no picture. Could it be my main Control board where all the ribbon cable for the X and Y are conected are bad? Any help or suggested?

No picture at all, but the sound is fine.

I suspect this board might be bad. Since this is the board that gives me the picture, which is feed from the X and Y board.

there's is no picture at all now, the screen is blank...I noticed when I turn the tv on, the main ctl board where all the ribbon cable connect to, the led light comes on. So, does that mean my control board is OK?

Tom, here's a picture of the TV when I first brought it home, I suspected a Y board was bad, change that and also the x board. Now the TV screen is blank. Hope this help you help me troubleshoot the issue.

When I turn the tv on, I can heard the sound coming off of there, but still no picture with the new board. I did noticed that on the main control board. The little green led light does not stay on steady. It flashes a couple of times, and shut off and does it repeatly.

It looks to me more like a buffer board fault but I'm not certain.

Y buffer.
Yes buffer boards are often bad.
