LG 42PM1M Screen burn in, possible to fix?

This is an LG plasma 720p (768) monitor, no TV tuner built in. I was given this TV by a friend who owned a fitness center. The TV was used to display info about upcoming events but unfortunately they had their logo and a few display elements onscreen full time, no screen saver, no rotation of the elements to different places on the screen. It was essentially a powerpoint running 24x7 for 4 years.

I can play a movie and it all displays fine except I get some "burn in" where the images were displayed and I get some amount of Tom66's "sparklies" throughout the screen. The first thing I intend to do is check PS and Sus voltages and adjust them into spec using Tom66's great plama guide. The picture isn't unbearable for a TV to put in the garage but it would sure be nice to get it back to a decent operating state for a spare room in the house.

My question is this...can this ghost image phosphor burn be fixed without replacing the entire panel (which I wouldn't want to do)?
Working...
