    Re: lcd sansui 321, MP116T power supply

    I had this very same issue in a badge-engineered Chinese set (Bostton) that used this power supply. It appeared to be heat-related (only once the power supply was up to temperature did it emerge). I replaced every component that was accessible and possibly subject to thermal stress. All electros, FETs, high watt resistors. Still same problem. I bit the bullet and bought a new replacement board out of China for about $25. Problem Solved.

    I'm posting this to help others who might be encountering this problem. I assume it is probably a SMT IC on the soldered side of the board causing problems?

    On other posts related to this problem I saw a claim that it was the inverter causing the problem. No, definitely a failed PS issue.

      SANSUI SLEDSC-32HD TV not booting, No stand-by led
      by Neddsme
      I have a 32 inch Sansui android TV that stopped booting. i checked the motherboard for any power failures but it seemed OK to the best of my knowledge. The TV does not have a dedicated power supply board so i could not do any isolation but here is a list of all the things i think were relevant to test.
      if i missed anything you let me know;
      DDR (1.5V) = 1.484V
      VDDC = 1.000V
      VDDC_CPU = 1.151V
      VDD1V2_DM = 0.000V
      3V3_STB = 3.315V
      3V3_M = 3.307V
      1.8V_M = 1.803V
      ALL KEYS = 3.310V
      5V_STB = 5.142V
      5V ...

      Thermaltake TR2 750W -fixed 5v stby now +5v reads low and no 12v
      by rodd
      Dear all,
      I am trying to repair the ATX power supply.
      First I fixed the +5V stby, which was zero due to a shorted TNY279 and an open 2R2 resistor.

      Just in case I replaced the PWM control IC (PS223) and the PFC control IC (CM6800).

      Now the supply turns on, the +3.3V is fine, but the +5V measures only 2.5V and there is no +12V.

      I have checked every diode I could find with a DMM (in circuit) and all the capacitors (in circuit) no shorts, low ESR.
      In despair I removed the low voltage diodes which were all mounted on the same heatsink...

      Samsung BN44-00516A no 5v Stby
      by BigPete
      So I've done a lot of searching trying to figure this one out. I've replaced the usual faulty components on this board.
      I've repaired a few of these boards already but never had this issue.
      There's no 5v Stby or PS_ON voltage.
      There's no voltage at ICP801.
      I figure the standby circuit comes from the rectified circuit supplied through the resisters and diodes. Then goes to some Zener diodes and transistors to diode DM832, where the voltage output stops.
      From there the circuit goes down to the optocouplers.
      I swapped ICP801 and a few other bits and pieces with...

      Blinking stby led on a TD systems TV with 17IPS11 PS
      by edugimeno
      Hi There!
      I have a TV set (model TD Systems K32DLV1H) which doesn't power up.
      During power off, the stby red led is on, as it should, then I press power button on remote and the led starts blinking, endlessly.

      Sounds to me like a PS problem. TV is kinda alive as it stays in Stand-by, recognizes power up button from remote, etc, but can't really power up.

      Internal PS is a 17IPS11. First inspection shows no damaged components, no swollen caps, and multimeter shows all diodes are good. Also there's a dual diode transistor shaped component on a heatsink...

      Marantz m cr611. Switches off. No stby.
      by Fritter
      Hi
      Bit of a weird one. Unit will only stay on for a few minutes and functions correctly while it's on. Output to speakers normal. Then switches off. No power, no standby, unit is dead. 10 minutes later, it can be turned back on and functions normally again. It's not generating any heat. Has anyone seen anything similar ?
