This is my personal tv, that I have had for about a year.. Anyway lately it has developed one very small vertical line about a pixel wide, but it only runs half of the screen. Is this a driver board starting to fail?

It's probably a defective plasma panel. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 60PC1D One small vertical line about a pixel wide.
Depends if it's a dual scan panel. If it's dual scan the panel is probably the fault. If not then there's the very rare possibility it's the digital / control board. I'd say dual scan is unusual for a 720p, but I'm not sure without a picture of the chassis which I can't find on the internet. Please do not PM me with questions! Its doing is sporadically, its on the screen for about 15-20 minutes then disappears completly.Comment

If it's sporadic, there's the chance it's a loose connector. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Yeah, top/bottom boards = dual scan panel. More expensive (TCP cost), but makes the Y-buffers, Y-sustain and Z-sustain cheaper. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by TrueSword88Hi all.
I have a Kogan 65' LCD Panel with a thin blue vertical line (top to bottom) on left hand side of panel.
The line just happens to coincide with the end of COF and start of the next COF (attached).
The line is permanent no matter what I've tried. I've tried pressure testing the panel (top to bottom) and all over, I didn't notice any difference with the line, either temporary or semi-permanent.
Also tried unplugging all flex cables, cleaned with isopropyl then re-inserting to no avail - line remains.
Hoping to fix... -
by almarhumHas one here really gone through fixing laptop screen vertical line(s) by repairing/replacing its Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable, so would recount and share the complete steps of the process here now?
As most, if not all, believe the laptop screen vertical line(s) caused by defective Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable which slipped and passed through either laptop screen hinge but post here is asking help to elaborate definitively the useful, real knowledge of repairing in the most complete, correct way, esp. can decide/determine whether the cable can still be fixed or must be re...-

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-
