    Coby TFTV3229 LCD Help.

Well as you can see I'm a new member, here seeking some help with this LCD. I own a small chain of Second Hand Stores and I do a lot of the repairs myself to cut costs. This TV has been sitting in the backroom for over a year as the repair tag said it was dead. When I looked at the TV I noticed the coax was ripped out, I plugged it in and BAM! it came right up, seem to be OK, other than the coax. I unplugged it and went away for the weekend, came back and nothing! I followed the LCD guide from Budm and checked voltages on power board. I have good voltage on connectors (5V/12V) but the PS_ON is constant 2.9V and is not affected by power switch or remote operation. It's just on, whenever set is plugged in, and oh yeah, NO status LED operation.

The main cap, 82uf 450v, is reading about 169V and goes no higher which if I read correctly is about half of what it should be.

Being new, let me know what your electronic minds need to help with this LCD.

    Yamaha HTR-3065 No power/No Standby
    by redbaron1007
I got a Yamaha HTR-3065 on the bench currently that's got a no power/ no standby issue. When I plug it in it draws 0.01A from the wall, the relay for the ac transformer never clicks, there are no standby lights on the front, and pressing the power button does nothing. The fuse was not blown but upon measuring the voltages on the power low voltage power supply board (labeled operation 3 pg 89 in the schematic) they do not match what the schematic says they should be.

    RT809F ZIF socket operation
    by kevin_allein
Hi, I bought a RT809F from China. When I connect it to a LCD Monitor with HDMI, it auto detects the EEPROM and can read and program it.
However I have 2 different 8 pins EEPROMs and wanted to read them out. It neither detects the ICs correctly, nor can it read them even if I select the device.
If I measure voltage between pin 4 (GND) and 8 (VCC), I measure 0V. Obviously operation cannot work without voltage.

Any tips what I am doing wrong ?...

HP Compaq Elite 8300 USFF PC | i5 Would it be possible to take the switching power supply and modify it for battery operation
    by sam_sam_sam
I have pondered this idea for a while now and I would like for anyone who has any ideas for if this would work I have one that I might scariest it just to see if it could be done

I am thinking it might be possible to get a battery pack configuration that should work but I not exactly sure if it feasible or not

I was just looking at some HP elite 8300 computer that are used and the price has gone up since the last time I was looking at them on eBay really this sucks to find this out about a year ago you could find them with shipping for around $50.00 of course they have...

TV standby to power_on circuitry theory and operation
    by Crystaleyes
Although it is far from my main field of interest, people here keep asking me to fix their flat screen TV's.
So far, the problems have generally been on the PSU, the T-Con or the backlights, all of which have been relatively straightforward.
As far as the main board, or SSB, is concerned, the only real issues I've encountered have been bad caps and fucked BGA soldering.

It has also become clear that 'stuck in standby' is a common problem, and something which I no experience with yet could waste lots of time on without an understanding of how the 3v3 is sent to trigger...

hi to all i have the pcb you can see from the fotos
in the plug included in the red circle I have two pins that are burnt black and connected to the thermostat contact my question is how does this board come out I imagine I have to peel off the mask from the front that includes the malfunction lights etc but I don't know if I have to use heat and also what glue I will use to re-glue it and secondly what could have caused this blackening on the plug pins bad contact of the thermostat that made an arc and passed a lot of current momentarily maybe it needs to be changed...
