    Vizio VW32L HDTV20A Question

I have a general question on this TV please. When plugged in I got 5v standby ONLY, no 12 or 24v and no PS_ON when turned on. The Vizio logo did turn white though.

I jumped the 5v standby to the PS_ON and pin labeled B (BL_ON?) and got the 12 and 24v and also backlight came on. This allowed me to see screen was cracked in several places.

Question is, would or could the screen being cracked be the initial cause for the PS not to be turned on? I've tried disco'ing each the T-Con and Inverter board but no change.

It could have been a defective main board and the user hit the screen in frustration.

Ya I could see that happening. I feel like smashing it some more.. LOL

But I guess my question being is there some sort of T-Con cracked/shorted panel detection that would cause the main board not to kick on the PS, because there is no 2 seconds to black, there is NO temporary 12v or 24v or PS-ON it's just dead except for the 5V standby.

I doubt it. If there's a firmware issue, or other issue on the main board, you would never see any light from the panel.

          Re: Vizio VW32L HDTV20A Question

Ya there is no attempt by the main board to turn on the PS, even though the Vizio logo lights up white. So it looks like a bad main board AND broken screen I just love honest sellers!

This is one of the Vizio models that is notorious for the failed LDO regulators, usually some flavor of an 1171. It makes them exhibit the orange to white then lockup where you have to unplug it to turn it off. But, sadly, even if you found and fixed your problem you still have a broken screen to deal with.

hey new here so i can't pm tom66 as he said "go here for service manuals or pm me" vw32l hdtv20a would be ever so greatly appreciated if a manual could be found.i have a start up with backlight normall, but seems like no tcon indication at all just black screen(backlit) & no sound and has to be unplugged to turn off unless lvds cable is unplugged.
